    Dazaifu Tenmagu
The shrine is about 5min from Dazaifu train station. The grounds are vast and there's also a museum located within. The bridge which went over the heart-shaped pond was impressive. It was incredibly crowded when I visited and it was difficult to fully take in the shrine's atmosphere.

    Must visit!
One of the must-visit shrine in Kyushu. When we were there, there was a lot of tourists. Many great photo spots around the shrine. There was a bull statue within the compound as well. I understand that the deity enshrined here was a deity that’s dedicated to learning. There was the reason that many Japanese who wanted a good examination scoring will visit this shrine for prayers.

    Nice temple complex
A nice temple, popular for students praying for good results. The temple was crowded with them. Of course selfie comes first. But in spite of the crowd, it is a nicely laid out complex. After walking through you will come to a shopping street, nice but very commercial and crowded. Here is also the famous Starbucks location.

    Famous shrine
This is one of the most famous shrines in Japan. You can visit this area by taking direct bus from the city center. The path to the main shrine entrance is vibrant with shops and cafes. The shrine does not charge entrance fees. There are donation boxes and the box for offerings, so you can just pay as you wish. The shrine is not that huge and very well maintained. There are some historical monuments around the shrine, so you can just walk around with a guide of the map. It is famous for students to pray for success in academic exams here. It is worth visiting the site once if you are in Fukuoka.

A lovely beautiful city / temple / shrine with Zen atmosphere. Some ladies dress in Kimono / Japanese national costume.
This shrine is very popular among local visitors and tourists.
On the way back, highly recommended to visit one of the most famous Starbucks, won the Top 100 Design Building in the country!!

Decided to brave the Japanese train system for this one and it was easy. 2 changes 3 trains and you are dropped right outside. Very spiritual place, excellent museum and a large flea market to boot. Good food and coffee and typical Japanese treats. A good 4/5 hours out

Less than 1 hour from Hakata Bus terminal, but recommend you be there a bit earlier or you need to stand during trip.
At Dazaifu Tenmangu, you can feel Japanese culture.
You can enjoy Umegamochi, rice cake with anko paste, this is nice. After visit Honden and pray, you can walk to Tenkai Inari shrine. There is cave for pray, very small place but it’s fun.
You enjoy Trio gate.

It's kinda far away from stuff, but if you rent a car or are adventurous head over to Dazaifu Temmangu temple. It was a nice experience. I only stayed maybe an hour or less. Didn't walk the entire grounds but saw what i wanted to see.

Nice temple try to make the trip. I am not a Buddhist or Shinto whatever is practised here but it's still nice to see. You can see Priestesses walking around and priests. They are probably just hires but that's ok still.

This shrine is sacred for eduction and study. Thus, for new year time is good for asking to self development.

The walking street is full of shops and restaurants. Plus, good for photo taking

Very convenient to visit by train
