The nearby Shiraito Falls is famous, but this one is not so famous.
Perhaps because of this, there are few guide signs, so it may be a bit difficult to get to the site. By the way, Google Navi only guides you to the location of the waterfall, so you have to rely on your intuition to get to the parking lot.
But in the end, it was a great decision. It takes about 10 minutes to walk from the parking lot to the waterfall, and you walk through a natural forest.
Even though it's a forest, it's well maintained so it's easy to walk.
Along the way, there were animal droppings, footprints, and traces of animals that seemed to be wild boars digging up the soil, and we walked to the waterfall in a thrilling atmosphere.
There was also a sign at the entrance warning of bears.
The waterfall had a lot of water and was very beautiful.
It's a shame that you can't get close to the waterfall so you can only see it from a distance, but personally, it was a spot that left a lasting impression on me that was better than Shiraito Falls.

The waterfall is nice but little small, yet the walk in the woods was such great experience for my boys. Since we stayed at a nearby hotel, it's a very convenient for us to go. We tried the 4.5km to another destination, but turned back due to weather.

It was a beautiful day and not busy on our hike, so it felt like we had the place to ourselves. Lots of birds and wildlife to view as well.

I was slipping and sliding over ice in February. It's not spectacular, but also not at all crowded. Don't get too excited, I think the walk is better than the waterfall.
