It's a lovey little street in Karuizawa. It was a 30 minute leisurely walk from Grand Vert Kyu for us but we also stopped off on the way back from Shiraiito Falls as the bus passes by the old Ginza street. It's lined with little shops selling various things from local sweets, ice creams and artefacts. Don't forget to stop at Mille Mille for a super delicious apple pie. There are quite a few cafes and restaurants offering small bites and local delights. There's a Snoopy museum of sorts (!) and a new art museum (which was featuring Philip Colbert's works when we went) as well. Worth a visit. You can spend a couple of hours easily. Do note that lot of shops close at 5, supermarkets are open till 9 if I remember right.

A stunning array of quant shops, cafes and restaurants. If this was the U.K, the street would be littered with charity shops. Not so in Karuizawa, it almost feels like a cotswold village with a village square and lots to see. Well worth a visit. 🙏🇯🇵

Took the bus from karuizawa station cost 160yen per pax about 10min. But street are bit old and uninteresting. Good just to spend time. The only cool thing is a handmade sneaker shop so cool japanese made sneaker that looked like adidas/UA cost about 20k yen but so worthed. Quality amaZing !!!

We came here rather late, around 5 pm, and most of the shops were closed or closing. We managed to have dinner at an Italian restaurant but that was about all!

There are many shops along Kyukaruizawa Ginza-dori, from handcraft and leather shops to clothing, souvenirs, ice cream and restaurants. You can spend one or two hour there if you have time. It is a place to stroll and do some light shopping. And then have a cup of coffee.

It’s a really nice town to visit with great shops. Food is so so it’s a tourist place but a must if your in town. But one day will do it. Two is maximum. We did 4 but got in late our Friday night and did day trip to Nagano our last day as we were bored.

We took a Taxi from the Pond to the street in 800 yen and 5 mins rather than walk for 20-30 minutes. The atmosphere for the street is very relax and you can slowly shop thru. We bought some bags etc and finally took another Taxi back to the JR station for another 800 yen less than 5 mins. It need about 20-30 min walk also.

Yes there are your required tourist shops but there are also some interesting crafts, and food establishments. Just strolling the bricks and seeing the older businesses and building is worth the trip if you are visiting the Karuizawa area. It's a bit hodge-podge but I recommend it!
