Guide was cool local dude who said he was normally the cashier and was just filling in. Extremely knowledgeable and great personality and attitude for someone that had been running tours all day. Group was a little large at 32 people and as always, some...More

The Eagle and High Peak Mine tour has the same charm and authenticity that you'll come to expect from the town of Julian, CA. It's family owned and a labor or love. Our tour guide, Matt, had almost infinite knowledge about the mine's inner workings,...More

Arrived early midweek & we were given a personal tour by Matthew for 10 dollars each. Got a lesson in how to pan for gold and then headed down the mine. Matthew’s knowledge of the history and the geology of the mines was seriously impressive,...More

To tell you the truth I didn't expect for our tour guide to be very informative and answering our group questions. From the beginning to the end I was capture by everything in this interesting place. I highly recommend it.

This is a real hill billy establishment and very enjoyable. For $10 you get a very interesting underground tour and look around some fun old kit. Go there soon before some health and safety person closes the place down. It is very different and special.

Give yourself an hour and you'll learn everything you need to know about mining. Tour guide Jerry or Gary, sorry forgot which, will take you way back in time to 1870 and 1000 feet back into the depths of this old gold mine. It's always...More

The entire experience was made by Matt, our hilarious and entertaining tour guide. These guys know their stuff. The mine tour was awesome - hillbilly displays abound and there are ancient equipment and vehicles strewn about the property. Surprisingly informative and you even get to...More

Sorry, just seeing this question. It’s a little chilly in Feb, of course depending on the day. I am not sure if they are open Year-round, I would suggest calling. They are super friendly and helpful :)
