Merv Hoffman gave our group an extensive tour of the mine site. His knowledge of the daily lives of the miners, plus his understanding of the history of the mother lode, that seam of gold-bearing rock that fueled the gold rush, really made this visit memorable. If you visit the gold country, stop in at the Kennedy Gold Mine. You'll... More

My kids loved the gold panning the best. A very informed docent described the mine and showed the displays. He gave the kids great tips on how to find their gold. They came home with smiles and great experiences at the Kennedy Gold Mine.

The tours are very informative. You get to walk among the old tavern that seems to be just left the way it was 70 years ago. Interesting!

This is fun and interesting! As locals, we enjoy this at least one each year. So fun to explore, and offers some insight into "the golden days" of, um, gold! ;)

If you have a couple of hours to spend and are interested in gold mines and mining history, this is a great stop. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, good inside displays, very interesting grounds. Also good views of the Jackson area. The tailing wheels are also an interesting stop as well.

We visited here after hours. By the time we got there, there was less than an hour before gates closed - normally. We went on a Friday and there was going to be a rock and gem show that weekend so the gate didn't close. We had the whole place to ourselves. Unfortunately since they were closed, none of the... We stopped by on the spur of the moment. The entrance is very hard to find. Once in side the location there was very limited instruction on where to go. Once we found the gift shop we were well on our way. We paid for a tour but found out that the volunteer guides talk forever so we split off.... More

This is a great setting to the annual rock, gem and mineral show. You can purchase jewelry, rocks, minerals and crafts from various vendors. Keep in mind that this is a small show. The museum is open and it is worth your time to learn about the history of this part of the Mother lose. Also, make it a point... More
