About
Arista Winery was founded by the McWilliams family in 2002 with a mission to create the most elegant expression of Russian River Valley Pinot Noir. We are committed to sustainable farming practices and sustainable business practices. We farm our 30 acres of estate owned vineyards and we work closely with local growers who share our dedication to sustainability in their vineyards. We do not attempt to manipulate our vineyard sites but instead strive to preserve each vineyard's natural qualities. In addition to our wines, we pride ourselves on having created a true destination experience for our visitors. A breathtaking setting of Japanese water gardens, mountain and vineyard vistas, combined with an inviting tasting room, offers guests a welcoming environment that encourages picnic lunches and leisurely days spent on the estate.

OMG! The gardens at this winery are stunning. We sat at a table tucked away in the garden and enjoyed a spectacular wine tasting along with a charcuterie board. The host and the server were phenomenal and we felt like we learned a lot about the wines and the history of the vineyard. I could tell that the host and server have a passion for what they do. Excellent experience.

Sadly I did not have a good experience at this winery. We made an appointment for a party of 6 people and they sat us in a private area on a picnic table outside of the main building. Our host came 20 minutes later to pour us the wine tasting than left us for 20 minutes without hanging around to provide information on the winery, the wine and vintages, and answer questions. She came back again to pour us the next set of tastings than left again....
I had filled out a communication card and had originally selected some wines to purchase, however, she never came back and we ended up leaving.
I wrote them 2 emails to provide feedback and also to cancel my order, BUT I never received any emails in response and now just received an email that my wines are being shipped.
Arista, you need to improve on your customer service and need to take care of your customers, otherwise, you will slowly lose your following.

This is one of the most gorgeous spots in the area. Several quaint, beautiful spots to taste. While there were several groups tasting while we were there, it felt like we had the place to ourselves because of how well it is set up. Their wines are divine.

Our server Anne was not friendly and didn't pay us any attention or explain the wines to us in detail. She asked us which bottles we wanted to purchase before we even tasted the last wine on our tasting list and had to remind her that we were not finished. One nice man at the beginning asked us if we were ok and we asked for the explanation of our first 2 wines which he gladly gave. 2 groups who arrived after us left 30 min before we left on our own accord. We had prepaid for our tasting so we figured to just get up an leave since no one cared about us. We figured it was because of the color of our skin. This vineyard left a bad taste in our mouth. There are better vineyards to spend your money at.

This is my fourth trip to wine country and i have learned over the years to stay clear of the larger, more commercial wineries. The host where we stayed suggested we visit this winery and we could not have been more happy that we did. The property is beautiful! This was our first stop of the day and because we had an appointment, we couldn't stay to explore more of the property (sad we didn't skip the second stop - Buena Vista to enjoy this gem longer). The wine was delicious and our host Todd was fun, educational and very helpful. We ended up leaving with a few bottles and cannot wait to crack them open at home. If you want a special experience, this is the stop for you.

This appointment only winery on a West Side road is a must stop if you love Pinot. They have several Pinots from all over Sonoma county that are stunning! Their Chardonnay is great as well. Read the great articles in Wine Spectator, make an appointment, you won’t be disappointed!

This was such a lovely place! Kerry (sp?) did a beautiful job educating my friend and I about the wines and grapes and telling us about the history of the winery. Fun to try so many. Gorgeous property from the ornate garden to the beautiful wildflowers. Highly recommended!

I have visited many wineries over the years (CA and abroad) - but I've never had this kind of experience anywhere. It takes a lot to please me and even more to impress me. Todd was the perfect combination of entertainer and educator. He was a bartender for 10 years and he made an instant connection with our group of 4. We are all Pinot fans and thus we made a reservation here based on onlinne reviews as well as a review in our hometown newspaper. We tasted at several places over 3 days in RRV and this was far and away the best wine we tasted. The grounds also deserve your attention - a meticulously maintained botanical garden. Reservations are a must as the tasting room is small - but you will be rewarded with amazing wine and a gentleman who knows how to put a smile on your face and reallly cares that you enjoy yourself.

This was delightful. We spent almost an hour and a half with our host, Todd, in a beautiful room with a fantastic view enjoying delicious wines. Todd was well prepared with a variety of options and even gave us a taste of a wine not on our tasting list. The explanations were informative and the atmosphere was relaxed and fun. Every wine we tasted was great! Plan ahead, enjoy the wines and the people.

Attending the Chardonnay and lobster event tonight, staying in Healdsburg at Dry Creek BW. Have had no luck securing transportation to and from the winery. Apparent shortage of taxi, Uber, etc. Do you have advice? Thank you.
