We did a wine tasting, and I can honestly say, there wasn't a wine I didn't love or wouldn't drink. The tastings at the time of me writing this review are $20 for 6 wines of your choice, and the tasting fee is applied if you make a $95 wine purchase. The staff and service in the tasting room was excellent. They really try to make your experience memorable. You will also find a few pre-packaged salami's and cheese plates to pair with your tasting. We started with their Rosato Vivo which is a new release, it is a rose of Syrah with notes of Strawberry, guava and peach, the perfect wine for a warm or hot day, and a bottle will only set you back $28. Of course I bought some to bring home. Next up and in the following order we had the 2022 Vibrante another lovely white with apricot, citrus and tropical fruit. The 2022 White Riesling is just perfect. The 2021 Sangiovese is a medium bodied Italian Red with hints of baking spices and ripe red berries. Their 2022 Chardonnay is very nice, but I am not a Chardonnay drinker if it is oaky and I had a bit of oak from this one. But I still drank it and thoroughly enjoyed it. The last one we chose was the Treble, a ruby port style wine with notes of warm caramel and olallieberry. It paired beautifully with a dark chocolate truffle we had brought with us. It would work well with a berry pie too. We had a hard time choosing as there were 15 wines on their tasting list. It was an awesome afternoon of snacks, chocolate and scrumptious wines. I loved it so much, I took Mr. B back the following day where he enjoyed tasting all the reds and I savored another glass of Rosato while sitting outside.Visited May 2024Travelled with familyWritten 11 June 2024
- Keaven MSan Diego, California22 contributionsA MustWe love this place. We have been there MANY times and we are from San Diego. We will never not go there. The staff and the wines are great, but its the location, the view and the ambiance that is the supporting star, along with the mooing of all the cows. I dont use the word "wonderful" a lot, but that's exactly what it is. If you're on HWY 1 and you want a unique winery experience, its the spot. SIDE NOTE: All the 1 star complainers who bring pets should just leave em at home. Restaurants are privately owned and are for people, not dogs. They do not have to cater to your animalsVisited July 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 16 June 2024

If we lived closer we would 100% become members. It's a smaller winery and that is something we LOVE. I really can't say anything else except.. GO VISIT, do a tasting, sit outside, relax and enjoy the views. We love reds, so our tasters were all reds.Visited March 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 30 June 2024

Been to Harmony and this tasting room tons of times on our vacations to Morro Bay and Cambria, going back to when the tasting room was downtown before they moved up the hill.
But we skip it now and just buy the wines at the Cookie Crock in Cambria, where they are $5-$10 less, anyway. Not a fan of dogs and not a fan of other people's dogs throwing a major kink in our visits all the time. Same for restaurants that welcome dogs. Businesses need to figure this out. But the proprietors are tone deaf and are dog owners, themselves and thus remain ignorant of all the money I am not spending with them.
Their chardonnays are consistently buttery and excellent, though.

The young man working tonight was rude and abrupt. He let us know 40 minutes or so before closing time that they were closing which we thought was a bit premature. He was not very friendly to the wine club member that was there picking up her wine and buying other items in the shop. Overall, not a great experience. We've been there multiple times and this time was not as pleasant.

These guys are not dog friendly at all…..even outside and are quite rude about it! We have a small super well behaved ten pound dog. Don’t waste your time here….go to Paso where the wines are better and the customer service much nicer!

I have occasionally visited this winery and tasting room since it was originally located in the old Harmony Creamery building many years ago. I have usually had positive experiences and enjoyed their selection of wines. Since purchasing property in the Cambria area last year, I have wanted to become a member at one of the local wineries and decided to stop by Harmony Cellars to do so a couple of weeks ago. The lady pouring behind the counter asked for the tasting fee up front and when I told her that I wanted to become a member, she continued to demand that I pay for a tasting first. She then stated that if I chose to become a member, she would NOT refund my tasting fee.
This is pretty abnormal thinking for a tasting room ( I am in the wine industry) and I found her demeanor to be very non customer friendly. I paid her for the tastings and proceeded to a second winery in Cambria Village, whose wines I also enjoy. I did call back to Harmony Cellars later and talked with the tasting room manager who made a few "training" excuses for his employee and said I should come back again for a tasting. I have not returned, though I did see this same non-friendly employee recently at a Cambria garden party wine event, pouring for Harmony Cellars. Maybe she had since been more thoroughly trained.
Oh, by the way, that second winery I visited...I left that tasting room as a happy new club member. This winery knew the answer to, "What is Customer Service???"

Harmony is the cutest little town, population 18, with a few interesting shops and a winery. Harmony cellars surprisingly had some nice wines which we purchased. The tasting room is nice and big and the wine tasting fee was reasonable and I even bought some unusual gifts for Christmas presents. They have all sorts of cute gift items. It's not that far from Paso Robles and close to Cambria which is also a cute town with great restaurants. Someone commented about California's drought and they had to use porta pottys. California is in a drought but things are looking up now. As for the porta pottys, we did not see any. We used Harmony Cellars nice bathroom. They even have a lovely picnic area with tables and benches. I would definitely come back here again next time we are in the area.

We have seen this winery for many years now, but just never have stopped. A friend raves about it so this time we decided we would go and visit.
The setting is beautiful! Quiet and peaceful and serene. We were initially the only ones there - by the time we left there was another table of 2 people and a table of 4 or 5 women. But every one was sitting so far apart it was still quiet.
They have a lovely gift shop too that was fun to go through.
And they were advertising a Sunset Dinner next week that I bet is wonderful in this setting.
The only reasons I only give this an average rating is that it is very impersonal. Because of covid, all the tastings are outside - which is fine. But they then bring you a plastic tray on which sit little plastic sups of the wine flight you are tasting. You then pour the little cups in the wine glass you have been provided.
The server did come by a few times to ask if everything was ok - but we are use to more interactions at a winery - more information about the winery itself - lots more information about the different wines you are trying.
Would I go back? Maybe if I just wanted some kick back time, but the wines were not to our taste. We bought a bottle for the friend who recommended this place but were not interested in buying any wine for ourselves. And there is apparently not the usual lagniappe of getting the price of the tasting removed when you buy wine - you pay for the tasting up front .

We stopped by to see what they had. The lady working was very nice and helpful. They have an excellent selection of wines, and merchandise available. They also will ship!

When we first started buying wine from Harmony Cellars their zinfandel and their chardonnay were expensive for the area but also exceptionally fine wines. But the last time we were there which was in 2018, the wine had dropped in quality and is not longer special.
For the very best zinfandel in the area go to Minassian Young vineyards and for the best value in a zinfandel go to Peachy Canyon winery. For a better chardonnay either Chalone from chalk hill vineyard or La Crema are superior.
