A small 4 space lot along Highway 1 is a good starting point for this enjoyable hike. Extra parking at Montara Beach. My favorite 2.5 hour loop trip goes up Old San Pedro Mountain trail, a mostly paved trail heading above a peaceful canyon. Hawks and raptors soaring above break the silence. Once you reach the first summit, you are... More

Probably about a 3 hour hike but definitely worth it. you will climb to the top in to the fog and if you are lucky the fog will clear up so you can see the great pacific ocean view. The sound of the waves crashing, the hike the weather, everything just feels special and beautiful and if you are lucky... More

Beautiful hike! Too much to say and describe, you just need to get out there! Tips: The parking is along hiway 1 - right off the hiway is a paved lot- plug in Montana state beach and you will find it. The beach itself has 3 parking lots. Choose the one on the mountainside of the hiway! The trails are... More

Many wonderful trails for hiking, biking or horseback riding. Views from San FRancisco to Santa Cruz. You can start at McNee Ranch and hike up and over Montara Mtn and descent into Pacifica - at the end of Adobe Rd. Leave a car at that end and you are all set.

If you love hiking, this is one of the great spots in the peninsula. A wide stunning panoramic view of the pacific ocean. It has a long trail great for hikers and runners. This state park is "Pet Friendly". So bring your dog/s for a walk. After hiking, running or walking, and if you feel like going to the beach.... More
