This beach was.... fine. It was super smelly, but people seem to love it because it was very crowded. There's camping available, as well. Parking was $10-- not sure it was worth it. Wouldn't pay to go there again. There's a visitor's center and a...More

This is a great place to camp right on the beach. They recently upgraded the camping sites to full hookups, which is nice, but they also upgraded the prices - not so accordingly. Very pricey for the privilege of camping on the beach. Clean restrooms,...More

This is one of my favorite coast beach areas in the SF area. Lots of options for walking, bicycling or just hanging on the beach. I especially enjoy the area up on the bluffs near Mavericks. Near the Air Force radar station. Incredible views. Watch...More

Great place for a walk or bike. Wide sandy beach. Bike trail on ridge just above the beach is excellent with no steep grades and well marked except in marina area. Don't expect sunset views in June as the mist seems to roll in every...More

Great waves to watch but not to swim in. Sand is clean and the sunsets are beautiful. Make sure you have your Dogs on a lease.

Serene, spectacular coastal setting. Rarely crowded. Wonderful tide pools and wide sandy stretches to walk on. Wildflower strewn cliffs and incredible sunsets.

The beach offers nice views but make sure you will be staying long to make your $10 entrance fee worth it. Some park their car a few blocks away from the beach where it's free. Inside the premises, there are parked trailer parks that stay...More

Hi there, Has anyone stayed at the hike-in campsites? Are they first come first served? How far away from the parking area are they? Thanks!

The walk-in sites are within 50 yards of parking. There is one small parking area at that corner of the campground that is for the exclusive use of tent campers. If you go to Google Earth it will take you to Dunes Beach... More

Depends on when you want to visit. It gets sold out quickly around summer and also during the Pumpkin Festival. Other times your easy to get in whenever you want.
