The sand was clean along with the beach and the water was ocean cold. The waves were 4 to 6 feet high. It was steep wading into the ocean so the water really pulled you in. There were a few dogs on the beach that...More

This is a really popular spot. We arrived late afternoon & the car park was jam packed. We parked nearby in a side street for free, a short walk from the beach. Beach was lovely, really busy with families, couples, groups of friends, all relaxing...More

Wide open beach. Plenty of room to roam, wasn't very crowded, and very clean. Easy access from the main highway.

Definitely one of the most beautiful beaches in California. Quiet beach for couples or older adults.

Take a picnic, take a jacket, and take your cell phone to take some beautiful pictures! We really enjoyed hiking here and would have enjoyed riding a bicycle.

Hubby and I walked on the beach for a couple hours and didn't run into anyone. Clean, peaceful and lush vegetation. Beautiful waves and loved seeing the creatures all around. Benches to sit on at the bluffs and easy access points. Clean bathrooms too.

You can do so much here aside from Ocean view. Ride horses, bikes, walk on the trails. Family oriented area, very clean. No guard onsite so you must supervise you kids.

Every time I'm in the area, I walk along the beach trail. It goes for quite a way and is easily traversed. Bikers use the trail, dogs are walked along the trail, children and elder people enjoy walking along gazing at the ocean and taking...More

The walk-in sites are within 50 yards of parking. There is one small parking area at that corner of the campground that is for the exclusive use of tent campers. If you go to Google Earth it will take you to Dunes Beach... More

Depends on when you want to visit. It gets sold out quickly around summer and also during the Pumpkin Festival. Other times your easy to get in whenever you want.
