Many tourist don't know how to get to the famed beach, even during the high summer weekends very few people out there on the beach. Great easy walk to the beach and views of the famed surfing spot.

We had a quick view of the Maverick waves on a rainy day. It was worth the trek out and marked off my bucket list. I get to say I saw the surfer waves with friends. Glad to have walked on the beach.

Mavericks run October thru March, so depending on the waves. It is called with 48 hours notice to get to Mavericks so you just have to be on call. The waves have to be just right for the surfers and some years it doesn't... More

I think Half Moon Bay is the location closest to The Mavericks for hotel accommodations. I stayed at the Ritz Carlton, which was absolutely lovely
