I loved the exhibitions that told stories about the mythology of the place. You can't guess that just from the beautiful sites you experience at Yosemite. I love old stories and beliefs and here I found the story about the crying woman and her lover...More

Loved it. There's a series of display cases well presented, and the ability to examine things up close.

I was hesitant on taking my young kids to a museum, but the staff was very friendly and the kids were able to touch may of the exhibits. There is also a park next door!

Small museum packed full of local history. Stuffed Black Bear in glass case. Bob Cats, Fox, Beaver and other skins touchable and great for kids. Items for sale and just a nice FREE little museum. Worth the stop.

Wow - this museum maybe small, but it is packed with great information about the area. We have little ones and they absolutely loved the animal skins they could feel as well as the interactive dioramas. They have a nice little gift shop as well.

They are open on weekends, but it would be worth a quick call or check of the website to confirm about Labor Day weekend and hours. Donations are accepted, but there is no fee. Wonderful little museum to visit!
