Great place to visit but the best time to go is during their Living History Presentations !!! Make sure you check out The Secret Room and see how they kept track of the tunnels back in the old days before computers.

We stopped by on a weekday and caught both tours. The guide was nice but focused too much on his own life and not enough on the history. The grounds were very pretty but the tour was too long to keep kids entertained. The mine...More

We loved wandering around the mining yard and visiting the Bourne House. Everyone of the docents were friendly and knowledgable.

Wonderfully green, clean park with several trails. The only negative is that it doesn't open early in the day, so to avoid the heat you must postpone hiking.
