Poor man's Pebble Beach!

This place is great! So many ocean holes. It's kind of a Torrey Pines style course, but more ocean. For women, I think it's pretty dang hard (5600 distance I think), and you... read more

This place is great! So many ocean holes. It's kind of a Torrey Pines style course, but more ocean. For women, I think it's pretty dang hard (5600 distance I think), and you aren't getting much advantage on most tee boxes. I hit 1 iron the whole day. ONE. Price: I think they either need to make it $140 and... More

I didn't feel there was anything special about this course. It wasn't in good condition, although the greens were. It could be due to it being in June? Off season? I am not sure.

There is a reason they call this little Pebble Beach. The course was well manicured, challenging and interesting and a lot of fun. My only complaint is that the carts do not have sandwiches or other food other than snacks.

Played here on the last day of a 2 week golf trip that included the four courses at Bandon Dunes as well as Pebble Beach, Spyglass Hill and Spanish Bay. Sandpiper isn't in that league and doesn't pretend to be but it is a challenging course in excellent condition without the eye watering green fees of the others. The clubhouse... More

I has some trepidation about playing the course after reading many of the most recent reviews. However, I was staying very nearby (it is almost walking distance from Bacara) and decided to give it a chance if i could secure a twilight tee time. The first time I called the pro shop to book a tee time as a single... More

The Sandpiper Golf Course is located between Hollister Avenue in Goleta and the Pacific Ocean. It is on the west end of the Santa Barbara/Goleta metropolitan area and offers a very scenic site for a round of golf.

I love playing here - the ocean views, the dramatic holes but for $165 I would expect the course to be in better condition. I know that it is winter and the weather has been unusually cold but still, there are too many bad spots on the course now compared to any other time I've been there. On the bright... More

well almost, all the components are here - at least as dramatic a layout, windswept aromatic pines and ocean views as the comparable Torrey Pines. Indeed, where many holes at Torrey are along the cliffs, at Sandpiper, the back nine drops down to beach level a bit with waves thundering very close by, but also just off-shore and often in... Sandpiper was a nice layout in surprisingly good condition with the lack of rain in the area. The greens were quick and responsive to approach shots. The back nine is more difficult than the front and holes 10-13 are incredible. Pace of play is a bit slower than I would expect but rangers were out trying to help. Price tag... More

Sandpiper Golf Course 7925 Hollister Ave Santa Barbara, CA. Sandpiper Golf course is one of those gems available for public play on the Pacific Ocean coastline. Originally its humble beginnings started as a crude oil production site from the 1930’s through the 60’s. It was purchased and developed in the 1970’s as a golf course. The course layout is beautiful... More
