We booked a shuttle from the LAX airport to our hotel in Anaheim. 45+ minute drive -- the driver was a safe driver and exchanged pleasantries.
The shuttle was clean, driver was personable and provided a step stool to get up/down into and out of the shuttle.

Drivers were great but, what was promised and paid for beforehand was not what we got. Paid for a Citadel shopping tour from 11am to 4.30pm, they picked us up at 11am then contacted us at 3pm saying we had to leave because the driver was there waiting. When we told them the tour was paid for until 4.30pm they basically said bad luck, if you don’t leave now, you will have to find your own way home. Customer Service department at Karmel was very rude and unhelpful.

Karmel shuttle is a bit spendy for transportation, but they get you to where you need to go! We were a bit sceptacle of our first pick up at the LAX airport when the van arrived with graffiti on the side and no seat belts in two of the seats in front row. They were broken. The driver was great though and efficient. Then on our pick up on the way back to the airport John wayne we needed picked up some place other then our scheduled hotel, due to getting stranded without a way back to our hotel, which was a scary adventure in itself... I pleaded with dispatch to please send the driver to us which was only 2.5 miles from where we originally were to be picked up, in an area you dont want to be stuck in. Dispatch at first said they could not do that and that we would need to find another way back to our hotel. The problem was we had 7 people, myself and six children and no uber or other shuttles in the area that would take that many! We had taken a metro bus to where we were, but that same bus cancelled without notice to return us. It was a very stressful, scary situation. We were on a tight schedule in order to catch our plane back home and our luggage was all back at the hotel as well. Long story short, after much pleading and explaining the desperate situation we were in, dispatch got a hold of the driver who not only agreed to pick up our luggage, but agreed to drive the extra 2.5 miles to come get us so we could make the airport. Originally dispatch agreed if I would pay and additional $150 that I did not have, on top of the $199, I had already paid for the scheduled trip. Driver went above and beyond and got us for no additional! He was an angel, after such a distressing experience!!! I cant even begin to explain how thankful we are for him and for what Karmel agreed to do for us! I Would recommend, but do plan on spending more than you would for uber. If you have a large family definitely worth it!

Armarion, our driver, was outstanding! He arrived in a timely manner, was professional and very friendly. He loaded all our luggage, and made our ride extremely comfortable, by striking up conversation, and even asking if we were happy with the temperature of the van. Not to mention, the van was nest and clean.

My group of 5 used Karmel ride share round trip from LAX to Anaheim Hilton. It was a fantastic experience that was hundreds of dollars less expensive than other shuttle services. Ok the way in we were in a larger shuttle bus with other people and on the way back to LAX it was a private van. The drivers texted and called to see if we were ready and picked us up right on time. Great experience!

Beware! I booked a shared van service with a maximum of 5 passengers with getawaytoday.com. Was led to believe that since my family is 5 then I didn't need to book a private van that I could book a shared van at a lower rate. Not the case! When we were picked up the van was late. But that was fine it was a weekday in LA and our driver was friendly. After our stay the return trip was right on time. We got all loaded in the van as the driver said they had to go pick up another party of 4. This is not what we were led to believe would be the case. The driver was courteous and called his manager that I could here talking loudly about how a shared van is 9 max. I called and spoke with the manager and he put the blame on getawaytoday.com for the confusion! He was not friendly. After picking up another group of passengers we were packed like sardines filling every possible space including the front seat of a fairly dirty van. Just be aware you get what you pay for.

Hello,
We always aim to deliver a great experience, and we are gutted when we don’t meet expectations. Thanks for taking the time to bring this to our attention. We will use the feedback to make us better and to ensure this doesn’t happen again.
Whether you have 1 person or 5 people in your party, the rate is the same. This is a shared ride service. You may share the ride with other passengers in a van that holds up to 9 passengers max.
When you select Private Van service: By selecting this service type you will ride in a van that fits up to 9 passengers.

Was told to be in our lobby of the hotel 15 minutes prior to pick up time because the shuttles are usually early. 2 mins after the scheduled pickup time we received a call stating they would be there in 15 mins. 20 mins then elapsed and we received another phone call saying they would be 5 more minutes. I called back 10 minutes later asking where they were because we were now running late to get to the airport and they said they were 2 more minutes away. Very disappointed with this shuttle service we had pre booked and pre paid for.

We were sent a bus with a very foul odor. There were frequent promises to remedy the odor but it persisted throughout our near 12 hour long charter service. When the driver took a longer route (the 101) we unfortunately found out the restroom was not functioning. Several passengers were in pain/tears and were told to wait as we were almost at our destination (Griffith Observatory). First bad trip with Karmel, but this one was horrible.

Having recently used Karmel Shuttle's services for my LAX transfer, I'm thoroughly pleased. Their punctuality, clean vehicles, and courteous drivers made the journey seamless. Their commitment to customer satisfaction is evident, and their variety of vehicle options is impressive. I'm excited to explore their Los Angeles tours in the future. Karmel Shuttle's reputation as a top shuttle service in southern California is well-deserved.

We used the services of Karmel shuttle several times during a recent trip to Disneyland. The shuttles are very clean and in good repair. They guarantee no more than 3 stops. However we found the drivers and service variable. Our driver from LAX to Anaheim was excellent and gave some good tips about things to do. We also booked a trip to Univeral including park admission. We were told our pickup was 830 but to be outfront at 815. Shuttle did not arrive until about 850. Our shuttle to return from Universal was also late and on the return drive he seemed to get frustrated and started weaving in and out of traffic in an unsafe manner. We were happy to finally arrive at our hotel! Our shuttle driver on our return to LAX was at least 30 min late and on the drive informed us he was stopping at Long Beach airport first. Sensing that people were not happy about this and concerned about missing flights his driving too became erratic and frightening. Next trip to LA we will investigate other options.

Infants and children are NOT permitted to ride on the lap of another passenger!
Each passenger must have an assigned seat and seat belt...including infants. Please indicate the total number of children traveling. Infants must have an infant carrier and are not permitted to be held.
Please be aware that we DO NOT provide child restraint/safety/booster seats as there are several types and designs that are specifically designed to meet each child’s age, weight and height variables. It is the responsibility of the parent or legal guardian to bring a child restraint/safety/booster seat.

Hi Emma. I don’t provide transport but I used Karmel Shuttle from Long Beach to LAX and were very impressed with both their service and promptness. Even though we were the only ones in the shuttle we were still charged like it was full. I booked and paid online. I would highly recommend them.

For a pickup time from the airport, do you put the time your flight arrives or when you expect to be through customs?
Written 31 January 2018
do Karmel has toll free number or instant message capability cos it might be hard to find a free phone
Written 9 September 2017
Yes karmel do have a toll free number. However the only phones we could find were outside the bag area. It's crowded and hard to hear. If you don't phone it doesn't seem you get picked up. When we found one from landing at about 11oopm its the last thing you want any hassle with. We ended up phoning twice and eventually our one came with its number on the side and was told rudely she'd been driving around looking for us. Then things got worse....she pulled off the freeway on the way to Anaheim and was obviously lost. We were the only ones in the van so no excuse to pull off and drive around Norwalk. We eventually got to Anaheim one hour after pick up. Our transfer back to the airport wasn't good either..late pick up and just made it to the flight. Seems they didn't factor in early morning traffic woes. I wouldn't use them again but don't know they compare with others.

leave LAX at 19:15, would it be good to book round trip transfer or book single trip to hotel + shop till dropoff on the date of return?

They actually have a great program that will take you to the Citidel to shop before your flight. They will store your luggage and shopping bags in their VIP lounge. I did that before during Christmas time and it was such a nice relief to have somewhere to store my shopping bags. I didn't have to rush through all the stores with arms full of bags.

Hi
I there a free pay phone at LAX to phone Karmel Shuttle when you land at LAX? Only I get that impression from a few of the reviews...if so where do I go to find this?

Finding the Free Pay Phone was very hard, but we did spot one!
When you get through customs, and out into the arrivals area with all the public, the free pay phones were to the left at the very end of the building on the wall.
We could not see any in the baggage collection area which Karmel Shuttle advises..
Good luck! :)

Hi Phillip - I am the manager you spoke with on the phone while traveling on-board our van. The hotel made the reservation for you through our res system. Your credit card declined. We needed to double check your credit card number or receive a new form of payment from you.
If I recall, you were transferred directly to the airport without stopping. The driver was going to stop so you could resolve it with our office. This poor driver did not get paid by you for this service. I ask that you double check your credit card and you will see there are no charges, as the card was declined. But did the driver stop when asked to double check your card number for accuracy. Did the driver stop when you refused to provide us with a new card number? NO!
Once you see there were no charges I ask that you re rate our service on this site. You got picked up and dropped off at your destination for no charge. I think we went above and beyond for you and to receive a negative rating from you is wrong. Wouldn't you agree?

Here is my credit card transaction.
