This is a great inexpensive (free) education for kids and adults alike. They used to have one at Lake Elizabeth where they dug a pit that you could climb down inside and see the exact point at which the plates contacted. Until that comes back...More

Mind boggling to see the demonstration of the actual fault and how the earth has moved several feet from the last marker point. Then only across the street you see a house still standing through which the fault line actually passes through the middle! Great...More

I went to a special exhibit at Lake Elizabeth called Hayward Fault Exposed and it was a very interesting site. Explain how the latest equipment measures earth movement. Sadly, its not there any more.
