Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens offers everything from colorful displays...

Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens offers everything from colorful displays to thunderous waves. The mild maritime climate makes it a garden for all seasons, attracting gardeners and nature lovers. With manicured formal gardens, a dense coastal pine forest, native flora and habitats, fern-covered canyons, camellias, rhododendrons, magnolias and conifers, heaths and heathers, and flower-filled coastal bluffs overlooking the blue ocean, the garden is a jewel on the Pacific Coast.

Open daily except the Saturday after Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. March-October 9am-5pm, November-February 9am-4pm.

Rhody's Cafe, located in the Gardens, serves fresh, locally made lunches, coffee drinks, desserts, and Cowlicks'Hand Made Ice Cream. Picnic lunches are available. Open April-September, 11am-4pm.

The Garden Store and Nursery on the Plaza are open daily. There is no admission charge to visit the Store, Nursery, or Cafe.

I've been here many times in different seasons and conditions, and it's always a bit different. Some seasons are wintery, such as the latest visit, and some have flowers everywhere. It matters not, as the focus is on hiking around and experiencing what is there at the time. There are semi formal gardens and art in the early parts of... More

We went to check out the Festival that took place at the Garden for Christmas week. Really pretty, family oriented activity for all ages.

Had a good time in the botanical gardens. The highlights were the rhododendrons, dozens of varieties, and the conifer grove. Also have a beautiful coastal view that was great for watch gray whales migrate.

Walked the paths enjoying the wonderful light displays. Enjoyed roasting marshmallows over an open fire, great live music, cider, cocoa and chile etc. Volunteers super friendly and helpful. Gift shop has lots to see and buy....

If you are at all interested in fauna & flora, you must visit the Gardens. There's something blooming almost year round. In Spring the rhododendrons and azaleas are spectacular. And in December, the Festival of Lights is not to be missed!

The place to go if you love gardening or just enjoy beautiful landscapes and views. The walks can be easy or a little more challenging but they're real good at directing you when you come in.

Even in mid-winter this lush garden is lovely. Their vegetable garden yields thousands of pounds of fresh food donated locally. The paths can be steep but there is wheelchair accessibility for much of the area.

Very nice. Different events for the appropriate season, butthe gardens are at their best when the rhododendrons are in bloom. A must see & pleasant walk through the gardens.

This was our second visit to this place and we really enjoyed it. Last time was a regular visit, but this time it was all decked out with holiday lighting that made it very spectacular after dark.
