We went in the morning, it was foggy so no sun to shine on the glass...there is sea glass but not as many colors as on might expect, maybe to many people not following the rules of not taking any of the glass with them. The tide was out so there were many tide pools to see. Worth the short... More

Go in the early morning to beat the croud. Take the stairs to the glass beach. No need to bring a towel; the beach is covered with small blue, brown and clear pieces of glass. It's a fun place to visit and explore. Make it a day trip and bike the coast.

People suck. There used to be a lot more "glass" on Glass Beach, but people have stolen a lot of it. It's still a cool place to climb on rocks, but not so much glass there anymore. To their credit, someone redid the parking and built stairs down to the beach.

All the beaches along the coast are spectacular- but don't take a special trip to this one to see glass. There's not a lot there. It doesn't live up to the expectation. The seaweed that was washed up was stunning in colour.

Pros: very pretty scenery, interesting to see how nature turned man's trash into something beautiful, unique & historical, short walk to get there on a paved pathway, public restrooms & lot parking available, it's free Cons: There is a VERY steep set of steps you need to climb down & back up to the actual glass beach area (no wheelchair... The first time my children dipped a toe in the ocean it was here. We visited in June 2016. A short walk down a level path gets you to the cliff. it is very steep and tricky getting down to the beach in some spots so be careful. But it was well worth it. A rainbow of glass completely covers... More

Nice area of CA not much glass as the books and most site state still a nice place to go. The CA 1 route is a fantastic drive of never ending beauty and glass beach area is one of many area to see even if you don't find much glass under the water.

I first visited Glass Beach in 2001 when the beach was full of sea glass. Unfortunately so many years later there is hardly any more sea glass to be found...very disappointing!

I was looking forward to visiting this beach and loved the views but access to the actual beach to walk on the sand and see the glass was impossible for a senior citizen. Definitely worth it if you're in good shape, though.
