The Roynon Museum of Earth Sciences & Paleontology was established in 2000 to educate students, scouts, and the general public in earth sciences, as well as to emphasize the meaning of the sequence of life throughout geological time. We’re located in Escondido, California, and invite you to come visit us. The museum is a plethora of knowledge brought about by way of the thousands of specimens that have been acquired throughout the years bringing into focus the overall picture of paleontology. Mr. and Mrs. Roynon add specimens to the museum each year on their travels throughout the United States.

A small venue, lots of hands-on, great for all ages! Better than huge Natural History Museums. The kiddos will love it, and you will too (kiddos being up thru teens).

I took my grandchildren here. They were very interested in the fossils and the dinosaur skeletons. A lovely way to spend the afternoon. The staff is very knowledgeable and happy to answer questions. The children learned a lot, and they enjoyed it.

Fantastic hidden gem in Escondido. Accompanied a 2nd Grade class on thier field-trip and was amazed how much there is in this museum. I can guarantee that the students and the adults (including myself) thoroughly enjoyed every bit of the 3 hour presentation/walkthrough. Mr. Roynon's...More

We were going to go to La Brea Tar Pits, but that was too far to drive for the day, so we opted for Roynon. We paid $32.00 (2 adults, 1 youth) entry into the museum. A little pricey for how small the museum is....More

Our kids go here for school field trips, Boy Scout and Girl Scout field trips as well. The rain and Museum just recently relocated to grand Avenue. It was in someone's house for many years. It's a wonderful hands-on collection for kids

If you or your kids are into dinosaurs or rocks, this is quite a collection. All legit, Smithsonian quality, awesome use of space to display rare pieces. Educational workshops for 3rd grade and up with make/take project.
