I visit the Meditation Gardens every time I come to Encinitas, which is usually in mid-winter. This time, it was October and the plants were quite different. A little subdued, but, as a gardener explained, it's the dry time of year. I recommend going as...More

The gardens are nice, but a lot of plants looked like they weren't doing too well. There were too many people walking around and chatting to be able to sit meditate. (The setting also reminded me of photos of a green cemetery.) However, it was...More

I have been going to Encintas for 30 years and make sure every visit I go spend a bit of time at the gardens. It has a serenity that is beyond and must be experienced. The gardens are meticulously manicured and there are paths that...More

We found out about it from a local lady. Such a peaceful, beautiful setting with stunning views over the ocean. There is no charge for admission. There is a fairly long stairway leading up to the gardens.

This is by far, the best public place of serenity in all of Encinitas! If you want a peaceful place to relax, watch the ocean, contemplate nature, hear your inner self, meditate under a tree, this is the place. It is a respectful place, we...More

There is nowhere else like this in terms of peace and beauty. Walk around the gardens a bit, and then sit and think for a while, -- it will do you good.

We stopped at the Self-Realization Fellowship on a Monday and were told it was closed for maintenance on Mondays. This made sense to us...but we asked so many "out of towner" questions that the guard asked if we were, in fact, not from the area....More
