in 1936 the Golden Lotus Temple was built ovesrseeing the Pacific Ocean in Encinitas, Caliornia. It was built on a cliff which eroded, and in 1942 a decision was made to dismantle the temple. The steps to the temple are still visible on a tour...More

This is a beautiful, restful space with lovely plantings along with benches tucked in private spots for rest, reflection, or reading. Alas, the public access area has been made significantly smaller now, with more than half of it roped off for private use: No walking...More

The gardens are a lovely place to visit but attending a retreat is even better. Retreat attendees practice silence for the duration of their stay; a wonderful practice to develop a sense of inner peace, your intuition and to shake off the intense energy of...More

Absolutely stunning gardens with incredible views. Koi ponds, cool old trees, and beautiful flowers. You can sit on the plentiful benches and gaze at the ocean. We watched a bunch of surfers and even saw dolphins. Plus, it’s free! What more could you ask for?...More

Not too hard to park for these 20 acres of beautifully maintained gardens with 2000 feet of beachfront. The pics say it all. Don’t bring small children (unless very well-behaved), as this a place for quiet meditation.
