Beautiful gardens, great views

Neat little oasis. Serene, well-kept gardens, spectacular ocean views. Great place to relax and meander in tranquility. Free to public, but I believe they appreciate donations.

I have gone on several retreats at the Hermitage and can say they all were wonderful and grounding experiances. The gardens are amazing to visit if you cannot make the retreat. Be prepared to spend several minutes to hours in peaceful bliss!

The gardens are part of a retreat center, free and open to the public. It is small in size but rich in plant diversity. It has great views of the ocean and places where to sit and meditate, enjoy the view or simple rest for a few minutes. Take a break and head to the top of the hill at... More

Beautiful landscaping with lots of benches to sit and meditate. Spectacular views but same views at the city parks to the north. The landscaping, the variety of plants, the coi ponds, and the little ponds and streams drew my kids in.

A hidden oasis. A nice place to come wander or sit and enjoy. It is not a large garden, but there are paths and nooks to sit in. A great way to spend an hour or so, longer if you need it.

This is one of the most beautiful places to come to relax, read or meditate. The view is spectacular. The plantings are wonderful. 20 years ago it was empty, but now it has been found.

Visited with husband and my parents. Its a visual treat. Spend around an hour here. We visited around 3:00 pm, it was not very hot and good time to take pictures. You are asked to remain silent and not disturb people meditating there. Very nice garden and pond. Nice memory.

I was brought here by a local to tour the grounds. It was a wonderful spot. The flowers and plantings are amazing. There are hidden meditation benches, fish ponds and amazing ocean views. Free admission to a lovely spot!

A beautiful, peaceful place off the beaten path in San Diego County, The Self Realization Gardens is a 'must visit' place when you are on the coast. Beautifully manicured with gardens that are the envy of all, terrific and well-maintained Koi ponds with very large and colorful fish, this little known spot is one you will never forget. Sit and...
