Iron Horse Trail is great for bikes, walkers and runners of different levels. There is plenty of space to pass each other, the trail travels over several miles through multiple towns.

Rode from Home2 in Livermore to the southern trailhead then along the trail to Concord and back. Trail is very nice, well-maintained, with only a few easy hills. Trail is well-marked where there's no risk of making a wrong turn, but markings are sparse to...More

Unfortunately it was hot and sunny and I walked around the Dublin Blvd section. Looking back at it, I like to hike the northern part of the trail.

Maybe I didn’t give this five stars because I am not a big fan of biking, but even I thought this was very nice. It is a long trail taking you through the cities of the Bay Area. You can walk, run, bike, or skate...More

We hiked from Walnut Creek approximately 2 miles and back. Flat, paved, well maintained and friendly people. Liked it to return a day later. I do notice the more distance from Walnut Creek the less freeway noise. We are out of state visitors and find...More

I take my dog jogging every morning on the iron horse trail. It is a paved path that stretches approximately 25+ miles, away from the roads and commercial buildings. It's awesome for cycling, jogging or walking your dog (not too many squirrels).

Yes, the trail goes to Walnut Creek. Just find out exact location of the trail and some public parking.
