About
This beautiful beach in San Diego is the perfect beach getaway spot, located next to the iconic Hotel del Coronado. Take a stroll along the expansive shoreline and spot kids building sandcastles, couples enjoying a romantic dip, and even dogs running around on the dog-friendly beach. Make sure you stick around for sunset—it's absolutely breathtaking. The beach can get busy, especially during summer, so try to visit in the early morning or late afternoon for fewer crowds. You can explore Coronado Island and the beach on a segway or bike tour, or drop by on an Old Town Trolley Tour of San Diego. – Tripadvisor

    Beautiful Beach
We came here on a late Saturday morning. Unable to find street parking we parked in the Hotel Del Coronado garage. It was a short walk to the beach from there. The windy condition and chilly weather did nothing to deter beach lovers. The wide open beach with soft white sand under a picturesque blue sky seemed so inviting. We picked a spot practically in front of the iconic hotel. It’s nice that we could access the hotel for restrooms and shop at its many stores. We were able to apply validation from purchases at the hotel stores to defray the expensive parking charge. There’s a popular taco stand conveniently close by for food and drinks. We’re glad that our grandkids could walk on the beach and put their little feet in the ocean water.

    Great beach! Pricey drinks!
Coronado Island is the best! Beautiful beach in front of Coronado Del Mar Hotel, but bring your own drinks! $15 for a bottle of beer and $21 for a mixed drink is a bit crazy.

    Bad beach experience!
The town was quaint and beautiful. But the beaches were closed, and no one bothered to share the information with us prior to our trip. We rented beach chairs at the Hotel Del for a day, and they talked in circles when we asked if the beach was going to be open.

    Best Beach in California!
This is our favorite beach in California. We love to rent the chairs and umbrella and sit on the beach and read. The food at the different food courts at the hotel are wonderful as well. We sometimes grab lunch on the deck and then head to the beach when we are finished. It is a great day with the family!

This was our favorite beach and favorite place in San Diego. Not anymore. The beach was closed due to raw sewage in the water from Mexico. The water, which used to be a beautiful blue, was brown and obviously full of sewage. Even the sand was not as sparkling as it used to be. The smell was awful! What a travesty! Hopefully Coronado Beach will be able to return to its former splendor in the future, but until then, I’d avoid this beach!

Great beach with super soft golden sands, enjoyed my day with my family, absolutely worth the visit, the best beach I’ve ever been besides water wasn’t very warm.

Don't forget to go to Coronado Beach when you go to San Diego. You will drive pass a long bridge. This beach sand is gold color, special when the sun shines on the top. The sand is so soft. So comfortable when you walk on the top.

Beautiful beach but unfortunately you can’t get in the water, the signs indicate it’s contaminated with sewage. Very sad and disappointing after paying a pretty high price for a room.

This is our go to place to tour our visitors especially when they are first timers visiting San Diego. We usually take them on a car ride then take them for a longer visit the next day.

In San Diego, this is THE beach to visit. Gorgeous sunset views, people watching, restaurants, long strolls along the water. Perfect!
