This is a lovely, well-maintained state beach on the south end of Coronado Island. There is a nominal fee to park and access the beach. It is usually uncrowded, with stunning views and mostly tame waves-- children under 6 should be within arm's reach, but...More

We visited the Strand while staying at Loews on Coronado and had a great time. The beach was clean, not too crowded (even on Memorial Day weekend) and provided a backdrop for some gorgeous family photos. We will definitely return to Coronado.

Fairly large camping park. Only self-contained rvs or trailers are allowed...NO tent camping or camping outside of your vehicle. Draw-backs, fairly small sites and vehicles must fit within the perimeter of the site meaning if you have a tow vehicle, it has to fit in...More

I always find 20-30 Sand Dollars along this beach. I was here in the "off-months" so not sure how crowded it gets but my husband and I were mostly alone from November to May. Outstanding CRASHING waves and great view of Loma Point and Imperial...More

Not crowded is not reason enough. The long, narrow strand is a magnet for litter washed up by the waves. Out of town guests described it as "certainly no big deal" which was the overall impression of Coronado. Head north to La Jolla, Torrey Pines,...More

One week camping was amazing. A must to get beach front site. Sites are a good size with water and electric hook ups. There is a local pumping company that will come pump your gray and black tanks for 20 bucks makes it real convenient....More

Not many tourists have discovered this out of the way beach located across the road from the Loews Resort and Spa. You will love it. Clean unraked sand. Restrooms and no lifeguards!

Friendly and helpful check-in process. Beautiful sunsets. Best you can expect being right on the beach. Will have to do again.

It depends. If you bring pets then buildings 4/5. We were in building 1 and it was just right for us. It's close to the main lobby and pool(s). But so are the other buildings.

I don't believe they have full hook-up, just electric and water but they do have a dump.
