Many of the parking lots were closed so it limited you to one parking lot. We did enjoy a nice long walk in the beach and it’s a pretty clean beach. There is a charge to go onto the property day use charge and if...More

So the beach is very nice. Little over 4 miles from the gorgeous Coronado Beach and The Del Hotel. Very clean and nicely lit up parking. There is electricity and water at each spot. The 100’s are right on the beach but you can’t see...More

Location is nice and the beach is beautiful, but that is all! Camp hosts are not very pleasant. Hours of the park (even though on the website are noted) are not actually clear. Check-in is 2pm, by the time you get settled, it is 3pm...More

There are beautiful views of the bay and bridge. The park behind is very open, playground for the kids, public bathroom but you will want to come at high tide. At low tide there is not water just mud.

It's a little out of the tourist way which is so nice! The beach is clean and costs $10 for parking. I saw my little bro play beach soccer here and the sand and beach are all well kept. If you want a beach with...More

This beach is one of the most beautiful in San Diego but since it’s a little off the beaten path, it’s rarely busy. Our kids love this beach since there are shells galore here. It’s easy to swim since it’s a long flat beach.

If you want to get away from the crowds in Coronado I suggest coming here. It’s a state beach so you’ll have to pay admission but it’s usually less crowded and more relaxed.

In my mind, the only bad about Silver Strand is the $$$ you pay to use it. I suppose the lack of nearby eateries could be a negative for some, but you can decide on that. On the up side, there is plenty of parking,...More

This is a State of California operated stretch of beach that is mostly a campground for RV's with direct access to the beach and ocean. The RV camping is limited to water and electric hookups. We are disappointed that the (2) two large bathroom buildings...More

We spent the day at Silver Strand State Beach last Saturday. Family members had a trailer and were camping out for a couple nights, so we joined them for the day. It's a great beach to walk on to search for shells, and the weather...More

It depends. If you bring pets then buildings 4/5. We were in building 1 and it was just right for us. It's close to the main lobby and pool(s). But so are the other buildings.
