A great place to visit with the children. All exhibits seem hands on for little children and adults. A focus on interaction and education goes hand in hand with this museum. Easy to get to and in the city. Plenty of parking. Gift shop and...More

This is a small local museum in Chico. Besides the permanent exhibits, the changing exhibits are relevant to local issues such as water and agriculture. Some exhibits are focused on kids so this is a good museum for children. The best part is an outside...More

We took the grandkids during a visit from Washington expecting to see a great exhibit. We were disappointed. The displays were falling apart and not appropriate for ages 5 and 10. Seemed expensive and parking is tricky. Read the signs or you will end up...More

I take my grandchildren regularly to this museum; lots of hands-on activities and rotating exhibits that catch and hold their attention. The docents are usually college volunteers, very enthusiastic and helpful.

The museum has 3 rooms, all of which had different themes. We also thought quite neat was the Saber Tooth and Bear skeletons. We loved the hands on learning and activities in one of the rooms, the couple of animals in tanks in the other,...More

Small but well run with exhibits that change so check ahead to see if of your interest. V. good interactive displays for kids - and adults! Right next to Bidwell Mansion so fun to take visitors.

I go every year to Gateway with my preschool class (kids age 3-5), and we have a blast..it doesn't matter what the display is, we always have a good time! The kids get to be hands on, they have plenty of staff to help, and...More

I always love to take my grandson to the Gateway Science Museum as it is unique for Chico. Must say that the current exhibit is a bit of a snooze compared to their usual output. Looking forward to the next one. It is still a...More

Took my 12 year old nephew here last weekend and he loved it. So did his 9 year old little sister. The way the docents engage the kids that visit the museum is what makes it so special and fun. The kids get to help...More
