Rented a car for the day and this was the first stop on our way out of town. Cool location on a bay and was fun to walk through and explore.

This won't detain you more than half an hour, but it has some interesting artefacts and gives a good explanation of Polynesian history and former lifestyles. We visited as part of an island tour, as o most of the visitors.

Was here as part of an overall tour. Interesting history lesson on Polynesia. The guide is what makes the tour and their knowledge/presentation of how it was in ancient Polynesia.. Disappointed we did not get inside the replica Marae though as it was closed for...More

Stopped here as part of an island tour with Island Eco Tours. Quite interesting history of the site itself and the Huahine history. Enjoyed the old pictures of the site and the "altar" set up inside the museum. Well worth ones time.

We stopped here on our self guided drive around the island--you may think there would be a small parking lot but apparently you just pull to the side of the road wherever you think appropriate. I was interesting to learn a little about the island,...More

The museum is in a traditional style building and is small but very interesting. Some of the old photos give some idea of what the past was like here in Fare. And there are a few artefacts of interest too. The museum has information boards...More

Better to have an informative guide to talk about the culture and history to supplement the artifacts and descriptions here. It would be a good stop for anyone to learn more about the islands.
