Stopped here for sunset views. Found a free parking space steps away from the sand. There was a huge berm on the sand. We climbed up and watched the huge waves and golden sunset. Quiet and uncrowded on President's weekend after a big storm.

Big expanse of shoreline, so there is plenty of room for all. Good sand with lifeguards. Nearby lunch spots.

We were on a short trip from Phoenix so of course we had to visit the ocean. The weather was colder than we expected, and strangely misty the entire day, but we enjoyed it anyway. We got Llama coffee and took a stroll toward the Tar Pit beach. The walkway was roped off, so we walked close to the water... More

This is a great little beach for families to chill at. We spent several hours there the first evening we arrived, and our kids loved the gentle slope into the water for playing and building sand castles.

We love the Carpinteria State Beach. It is a beautiful expansive beach with space for everyone. It is easily accessible with lots of dining and shopping options within walking distance. We've come to love the little town and beaches of Carpinteria.

Carpinteria is not a glamorous nor tropical beach. It's a family beach, lots of families! It's small town and easy to access. My daughter likes collecting shells at this beach, and is happy there. You can walk up Linden and hit a bunch of places for a quick bite or coffee, so you don't have to eat a sandy sandwich... More

Only there for the night with a short walk on the beach before I left, but beautiful spot. There's a bit of a boardwalk but it's mainly walking/running on the sand.

We came from the northeast for a winter getaway. Weather was cool by California standards, 50s and 60s, lovely for a Mainer. We enjoyed strolling the beach, but also the shore path. I am a birder and there is good habitat along the shore path. The park has fabulous shore front campsites.
