We remember when they built this plaza, and the I. Magnin store was the anchor store. It was fancy then, and fancy now. However, all the shop keepers are very nice, and you feel no pressure to either buy something, or to sneak out the...More

We stopped here for lunch on the Easter weekend. Many of the shops were participating in an Easter Egg hunt which was a lovely touch for kids. The lovely opening air mall is really pleasant to shop and there are some great restaurants.

Carmel Plaza is filled with lots of shops, galleries, restaurants, and places for wine tasting. The parking was an issue. Expect to park along the side streets or in big public parking lots that require walking a couple of blocks to the plaza.

We got dropped here for a coffee/bathroom break on a tour and, although it's an attractive mall, does not have too much to warrant a long stay. $10 for a cup of tea and a piece of stale cake seems too pricey.

There is an elevator in the southeast corner of the Plaza and close to the bathrooms on the 2nd floor. I hope this helps
