We were here October, the weather was warm and sunny, a perfect day for a hike around the Reserve. Parked up on the highway, as there was a sign saying car parks full. We walked down the entrance road into the woods, lot's of people...More

A favorite hike every time I visit Monterey. Get there early to avoid the crowds and park outside the park as there are limited spaces within the park. Bird island is enjoyable to observe and occasionally you will get to see sea otters playing about....More

Have visited here several times but there is always something new happening. Parking can be a challenge. The trails to the Point offer interesting foliage and plants but don’t touch any of the Poison Oak! Lots of bird-watching, and when you get to the cliffs,...More

Plan on spending four or more hours here exploring the unique microclimates in this park. We recommend the 10am docent tour. Monterey pine forest, Monterey cypress forest, coastal scrub, rocky granite and sandstone shore, otters, seals, pelicans, etc. etc.

The paths along the ocean are well kept and easy walking for any age. Lots of spots to stop and enjoy the waves and tide pools and gorgeous scenery. Great for photography!

Being tourists, we ventured here to see what all the fuss was about. We're from Hawaii so had some idea what to expect. The hike wasn't what I thought it would be through a Forrest but actually more seaside. It's not strenuous at all and...More

Walk as much of coastal trails as you can, you won't regret it. Especially Point Lobos to Whaler's Cove.

It was our family adventure day. Took us a little longer than we planned to get here as traffic and road construction caused some delays. We were able to get into and park inside the park so that was a plus. We didn't know what...More

We saw lots of tidal pools. Check the parks website for hours. If low tide is at 5:30, you will have plenty of time to see the shore if you get there when the park opens.
