It was a good Hike , and tough to get to the top but don't give up as it has a great view and you can see the Ocean from the top, it was a beautiful sunny day so don't forget the sunscreen & water!

Calavera Park has always been on top of the list when I either for myself or looking for a larger group had to pick one in the area.
Good vibes and did you know you are yards (well maybe a few more feet) away from one of two volcano calderas in north county San Diego???

Calavera Park has 3 softball/baseball fields, tennis courts and a play ground with some picnic areas. There are various classes inside the center. The Friday evening Jazz in the Park are here for part of the summer.

Nicely maintained park where we play tennis frequently, however with summer time it gets difficult to get a court during the week due to classes and private lessons. The playground area is great for kids and this is a safe neighborhood so parents can chill and read a book while their kids run around. The tennis courts are well lit and everyone we interact with are locals who really take good care of the park. There is never litter or vagrants or people going through garbage cans as we have seen in other parks. There is plenty of parking and the restrooms are adequate although not elaborate (for a park...). This is a quiet neighborhood and a nice park with lots of space to walk around. There are also basketball courts that are always being used, as well as a community center with inside courts.

If the weather is nice, why not spend some time outside here with your family. If the weather isn't being nice and is raining, then come inside and use the gym.
They have different events throughout the week/weekend here.
A nice venue available to all in the Carlsbad, Oceanside, Vista area.

It's a very well maintained park, with a community center, a gym
and large parking lot. There are tennis and basketball courts, baseball field and picknic tables which can be reserved. They are very popular for any kinds of celebrations. In the summer, there are free rock or jazz concerts on Fridays.

a great place for a picnic, nice quiet park with nice views of the surrounding area. outside and inside basketball, baseball, jungle gyms and swings, a family oriented place for the whole family.

My wife and I came here to play tennis and were pleasantly surprised by how well kept up and quiet it was. Quiet for a tennis court that is. It is surrounded by a baseball field and a playground so expect other people to be doing activities around you.

Unfortunately I got there when it was super foggy otherwise I would have rated this place as excellent. I missed the view, but you can tell about the incredible and efficient maintenance work they do all to keep this park pretty!
