We visit the area almost annually for over 30 years and didn't realize that the park was even there. Take time to view the introductory film at the welcome center, tour the main house/buildings and walk the gardens. Definitely do not miss the caretaker's house.

This park, on the home site of Leo Carrillo, western movie star of long-ago, is a fine place that is not often listed in guide books and "things to do" lists. But it is a well-preserved example of the fairly old west, circa 1920s, with...More

Be prepared to see lots of peacocks and one pure white one. The guides are very helpful and friendly. Also they have special tours for children as well. Very inexpensive to become a member .

They would like the nature walk around the grounds and may like some of the "old buildings/ranch". Not a lot of things for kids such as rides. There are free range peacocks that some kids get a real kick out of.
