I had no idea about this person, and when you visit on the weekend, there is a tour person, free, they take you inside the houses, and tell you about Leo. Also, get there about 30 minutes before the tour so you may watch the...More

Peacocks! A rare white peacock! I’m grateful they preserved this home, and surrounding grounds. It’s a nice visit anytime of day with lots of shade. The grounds are well maintained, the property is beautiful, and you can visit many times and always see something new....More

We found this while looking for things to dod while staying at the Carlsbad Inn. It's a historic, fascinating pace to visit. Leo Carrillo played Poncho on the Cisco Kid and dstarred in man other movies. He developed this as a Historic Park. There are...More

A treasure. The park was undergoing a lot of renovation at the time of our visit. Nevertheless, the park and its history are a wonderful reminder of California’s past

Hard to imagine how this ranch raised cattle in the past when you walk around and see only cacti and dusty ground in Spring. We probably should have booked a docent tour but it was disappointing that none of the buildings were open to view...More

I wasn't familiar with the actor who renovated this property, but what a kind and generous soul he was. His love for the buildings and grounds is evident in every step. The hacienda itself was not open to the public, but the grounds are lovely...More

They would like the nature walk around the grounds and may like some of the "old buildings/ranch". Not a lot of things for kids such as rides. There are free range peacocks that some kids get a real kick out of.
