The Carlsbad Oceanside Art league is non-profit gallery, exhibiting in its gallery (The Coal Art Gallery) a wide selection of art produced by local artists. The art includes Oil & Acrylics, Water Media, Pastels, Drawing / Printmaking, Mixed Media / Collage, Photography, Computer Art and Sculpture. The quality of the art is exceptional and the prices are reasonable.

I've visited and worked with the artists from COAL for several years now and have always had rewarding results. The have collaborated with us in international exhibitions and juried shows (Carlsbad Sister City Ambassadors), especially with Czechia. Their gallery keeps the shows fresh and the volunteers are pleasant.

It’s a great way to begin original art collection. Representing member artists, some members are famous and some not so famous artists. The art displayed are not just pleasing to the senses, but that tend to be investment worthy as well.
COAL established in 1951 and located in the beautiful Carlsbad at the heart of the village, by the beach. Monthly fine art show features huge varieties of local artists works. Oil, watercolor, acrylic, photography and sculpture. The gallery also sells Art Cards. There is something for everyone. Hosts are member artists who are engaging, dedicated and friendly.
Every Saturday and Sunday (weather permitting) their member artists display artwork for sale at Art on the Green, on the lawn in front of the Carlsbad Inn Beach Resort.
The cool thing about COAL is that its a non profit organization and is funded in part by a Community Arts Grant from the City of Carlsbad's Cultural Arts Office”
I have joined this Art League for over 3 years now, always happy to show my watercolor paintings along side with my friends at COAL.

What a treat to walk into an Art Gallery and be greeted by a friendly volunteer who wants to tell you all about his/her art as well as others hanging on the wall. The art was great from the sculptures to everything on the walls. It took at least an hour to check out every category and I'd like to go back to see some of my favorites again.

Wow, what a cool art gallery! All local artists, with some very talented people. The feel of the gallery is welcoming, and member artists who sit are eager to show you their work in the show. Neat to see the winners of the monthly shows.

I visit Carlsbad a few times a year and every time I visit I ensure I stop by COAL Gallery. Each time I go in I am blown away by the exquisite pieces on display! The people there are friendly and always helpful. I always get compliments on the art I have purchased from here; they make a beautiful addition to my home.

Wonrful place, great local artworks at very reasonable prices for original art. Each artist takes a turn at the desk. As a. Non profit the shop makes no money but instead all profit goes to the artist. They teach art classes as well.

We spend a couple of weeks every year in Carlsbad. We always make it a point to visit the gallery. You just never know if you'll find some original art that you really like.

I first discovered the gallery after talking with one of the member artists showing at the Inn on the weekend. I live down the road in Encinitas. So I have the pleasure of dropping in often throughout the year. We are very blessed to have so many talented artists locally. Remember, it is a new show every month. Whether you are interested in a specific medium, enjoy creativity, or want to learn more about art. Here is your chance to talk to the artists or just enjoy the art.
