    Beauty of Beatitudes
A significant and very beautiful church at the top of a hill with fabulous views through the well tended gardens and into the Sea of Galilee. A place for contemplation even if you are not religious. A must see on your trip to the Holy Land.

Beautiful church both outside and inside
This church is beautifully set right on the Sea of Galilee. It seems to fit so well into the landscape, making it more beautiful. The inside is relatively small and very simple, adding to the majesty of the place. I am glad we stopped to visit.

    Where Jesus addressed the multitudes
The Church of the Mount of the Beatitudes is where Jesus addressed the multitude., It is the site of the Sermon on the Mount and the Sermon of the Beatitudes. The Mount of Beatitudes is one of the most significant sies in the Ministry of Jesus. The Church is in Capernaum, it was rebuilt in the 1930s on the site of the 4th Century Byzantine church. The outlook over the Sea of Galilee is quite inspiring. Worshippers may like to leave a donation, but it is not obligatory.

I had intended to visit this Church for a long time as I had visited all the other ones in the region.
But what a disappointment when the attendant at the entrance demanded a hefty parking fee.
I must admit that I should have paid, having driven till there, but I left instead.

We loved this space. The fact that it had a cafe. The charming staff and the peace we felt there. It has its own special charm and is very special

Nicely located in the lake Tiberias shore. A small, cute church and beautiful gardens with a lot of inscriptions from the gospel to dictate the mood. The nun in the church gave a scarf to cover up the shoulders of the ladies prior to entry. There is also a café and a hotel for designated visitors. There is a small fee at the entrance and ample parking available. In my view the overall setup is a little commercial but other pilgrims might have other views.

I attended this tour virtually and it was simply amazing. Our tour guide Amit was so knowledgeable. I am definitely signing up for more! This is the best thing next to actually being there! Thank you, Amazing Jerusalem for providing this opportunity, especially during this pandemic.

A new church on a historic site. A bit of a disappointment to me, but I am not an extremely religious person.

We began our pilgrimage to Galilee here with an early morning visit. Traveling as a group meant that photography was a side activity, so my gear was a pocket camera. The features that were useful were wide-to telephoto zoom and HDR, the latter so useful due to the contrast under Israel's sunny skies. Missing was a strong ISO capability, needed in dark church interiors, often large where flash is both inappropriate and not functional.

Presumably it means that this is the suposed site of the Sermon On The Mount. The beatitudes were only a small part of this sermon, which on balance was a hard-hitting and profound statement of how Jesus expected people to live. It's wrong that so many think of 'Gentle Jesus, meek and mild' because all they remember of Him os the beatitudes =- that is so wrong. Anyway, in an area where so many of Jesus' recorded deeds are remembered; this one is on a 'mount' away from the lake, and is a peaceful and memorable place.
