As soon as we landed in Paro, we were amazed by the airport building. Even then, we realized that all the modern buildings have elements of the traditional architecture. It's nice when you experience something like this as soon as you arrive to Bhutan.
The Paro airport is said to be one of the most demanding to land in the world. Yes, that's true, because we've convinced ourselves of it.
At this view point, we saw a plane taking off. It was a beautiful scene. On the other hand, we were sad because our fairytale journey through Bhutan was coming to an end.

Best place to stop to see the flight landing and takeoff.
Is on the top hill, so people should extra take care.
Enjoy view!

Even though acknowledged as one of the most dangerous airports in the world, it really requires very seasoned and certified pilots to make the experience a positive wonder. Our landing and subsequent departure were on perfect weather days with maximum visibility. This hidden valley will linger in my memory for years to come...

Paro international airport is the only international airport in Bhutan where you can teach Bhutan via air. It’s a small airport with singly runaway and no or very few international traffic. However, it’s considered as one of the dangerous airport for landing and also most beautiful airport in terms of landscape and architecture.

The approach to landing in Paro in the aircraft was spectacular with mountains either side. It was good to see the airport from above and watch the aircraft come and go, making the difficult journey through the valley

We stay on the hill overlooking the airport. But this viewpoint offers the best view of the whole airport. A nice place to see airplanes take off and landing in the early morning or the afternoon.

Only specially trained pilots are allowed to land in Paro. The 737 flies so close to the mountains as it winds through valleys on its approach that they must turn off the GPWS (Ground Proximity Warning System) since it would otherwise be blasting with alerts in the cockpit for the entire approach.

This lookout allows anyone to watch these exciting landings and frequently town folks do just that.
