We worked a trail hike into one of the mornings of our winery tour weekend. The trail head that we parked at is a 15 minute drive north on CA29 from the point where Lincoln Ave, Lake St, and Silverado Trail come together on the eastern edge of Calistoga. The parking is minimal but decent. We chose a trail which... More

If you have read Silverado Squatters by Robert Louis Stevenson, then its worth the visit to where he squatted on his honeymoon whilst he was in Calistoga in the Napa Valley area. A commerative plaque marks the spot of the cabin he lived in with Fanny Stevenson nee Osbourne and his stepson. The spot is just off the trailhead up... More

We explored the park and ended up taking the service road to the top of the mountain for some breathtaking views of the valley.

Driving into the Napa Valley from the north you will go through this park. It is a windy drive but it is quite beautiful and there are many places to stop and take a beautiful nature walk.

We did the Table Rock Trail with the trailhead on the East side of the highway with our dog on leash. She gets hot easy since she is an Olde English Bulldog and she was glad to have some shady spots to lie down and cool off. We hiked in Springtime and adored many wildflowers, and some rocky formations that... More

Good trails: fairly strenuous and can be a little slippery at times, so be cautious. Wear the appropriate shoes, bring plenty of water and be prepared to be out there for a while. The entrance was hard to find; look for a bunch of cars parked on the side of the road! That's how we found the trailhead.

This is a beautiful hike that takes you to beautiful views of the valley. Bring your camera! First part of trail is in shade but mostly exposed to sun. Bring a hat and water it can get quite hot. Best in the morning to beat the heat!

Table rock is South of RLS park. There is some decent parking along the side of the road and the trailhead starts out of the parking area. This is a fairly strenuous hike with some relatively steep parts over rocks. But the view of the valley is tremendous and worth the effort. Not for the under 6 crowd unless they... More

Took the trail up to Table Rock, it is about 2.2 miles each way, not for the faint at heart, good up and downhill, some rocky/slippery areas but a gorgeous view when you get to table rock. We went new years day - i think I'd be miserable in the summer up here. It was brisk and clear and there... More

Nice park but hard to find the entrance Too bad because the trails are nice and nature beautiful but it is easy to go by without noticing it.
