The Little Lakes Valley Trail is quite simply one of the most beautiful hikes you’ll ever experience. From a trailhead high (over 10,000 feet) in the Eastern Sierras, you make your way past lake after lake in a stunning alpine setting. To get to the...More

If you look forward to a bit of solitude on your hikes, this is NOT for you. Amusement park crowds may be OK for families but this place is packed - especially on weekends. Otherwise an easy and picturesque hike.

This is one of the most beautiful hiking trail in Eastern Sierra. It is relatively easy, fit well for all family members. The trail is at 10,000 feet high level, so it may not be suitable for people with heart problems or breathing issues. You...More

We were advised by a few in the know that this Eastern Sierra hike is the prettiest and it didn't disappoint. It's an easy drive up the 395 out of Bishop until you reach the Toms Place turn off onto Rock Creek road. Follow that...More

I've hiked this trail at least a dozen times, and most other Eastern Sierra trails. The Little Lakes Valley Trail is the very best in terms of a combination of beauty and ease. It's great for folks who aren't big hikers. And it's great for...More

This high alpine hike is easy to moderate. Starts at over 10,000 feet so be in good health. Beautiful scenery. I went at the end of June to Chicken Foot Lake a 5 to 6 mile round trip. Wildflowers were stunning. Only one tough stream...More

Last time I came there was snow on the road and we couldn't park at Mosquito Flats and had to hike to even get to the trail. This time, mid-June, Mammoth Visitor Center said there was no snow. We arrived at the trailhead at 10:15am...More

We really enjoyed the tour. Once you got at mosquito flats, it is 4-5 hours to got to the chicken foot (or leg?) lake and back. We visited it on a weekday, and met with 10-15 people only so it wasn't crowded. It was absolutely...More

We enjoyed a spectacular hike to the Little Lakes during a post-snow closed road season. The scenery was incredible and the hike exceptional. A "near death" experience with frozen ice on the trail reminded us southerners that water can freeze and is found in more...More

This trail is amazing. Starting at 10,000 feet you are already in the mountains. Altitude can be a problem, so be careful and read up about preparing even if just walking a mile or so.

The roads in the area are all very good. We don't have 4-wheel drive and it was very accessible.
