We visited for a couple of days. Overall we had nice time. Plenty of restaurants, shopping, the zoo, ski resorts and other summer and winter activities. We were saddened to see the low level of water in the lake (following years of drought). The Discovery Center was nice, and we also visited Arrowhead Lake which is not far.

We drove up on a Sunday morning and stayed at the Marina resort. We had a great 3 days visiting the lake, locals and restaurants. The water was low in the lake but we kayaked and fished for 2 days. We had a great time.

We did a day trip here and I was so disappointed. The lake is down about 16 feet, and so there isn't much lake left. The town is cute with a lot to do and see. There many restaurants and shops. There was a lot of traffic, so if you want a quiet get away this is probably not the... More

the lake is beyond beautiful. The sad part is that it has to be down 20-30 feet. Your missing 1/2 the lake when you come over from Serrano Campground across the bridge, there is no lake to the left anymore. Really hoping we get a BUNCH of rain soon but don't let that stop you. The right side of the... More

Do not go there to use the lake in any way. The drought has caused the lake to be very low and it is quite dirty and nasty. The surrounding areas and mountains are beautiful. Take a hike or just enjoy the Villiage Square shopping area. There is plenty to do besides going in the lake.

The lake is very low due to the drought going on. I would not recommend swimming in the water as it is dirty looking. It is sad to see a beautiful area with such a nasty lake.

In Big Bear Lake Ca you can fish, swim, bike, motorcycle, zip line, helicopter tour, take a ski lift to to the top of snow summit and back or just take a stroll through the village and have a great meal. Rooms are plentiful and the scenery to die for, makes you glad to be alive.

Such an exquisite big Lake at such a high level. Almost at the top of the mountain lies thus vast amount of water. I think it is scarce to see such a place in another area. The surrounding is beautiful too. Lots of cabins and houses in the midst of old big trees. Feels great to hike around the lake.... More

We went up the mountain(way up!) to vacation in a cabin at Big Bear Lake, unfortunately, the lake was way down because of the drought. We were able to take a pontoon out on it anyway and get some nice pictures.
