My girlfriend and I were traveling down the coast to San Francisco and had some extra time so we thought it might be fun to try something different. We found Redwoods and Rivers on trip advisor and figured we'd give it a shot! We signed up for just a half day starting at 2:00pm. While it took us a while longer to get there than expected (winding roads and tons of construction stops) it was well worth it! Ray and the guys were super accommodating and were still able to get us out on the river for a decent length ride. It was just the two of us plus Ray our guide which made it a very personalized experience. We hit some pretty good rapids (never felt unsafe but certainly enough to say yikes!) and lots to look at in the calm patches. Definitely would do it again but would go for a longer day on the river next time!

This trip is a must go!! My daughter and husband went on the all day trip with lunch included. This is a great way to spend the day with your family. They take pictures that you can purchase...which is great for a memento to take home. Definitely go if you are in the area. Awesome guide and a wonderful company to work with. My son and myself couldn't make this trip but definitely plan to next time. We would like to do the camping one next time.

I've visited Michael (owner) and his rafting business 13 times in the last 13 years, with my first trip in 2002. Michael and his wife have become very good friends (close to family feeling) due to their kindness, hospitality, and beautiful country they live in. What a contrast to the concrete & freeways in my everyday world. Getting there You can fly into Eureka, CA or Redding, CA, and it is 75 miles from either airport, or you can get a cheaper flight into Sacramento, and it is about a 4 hour drive from there. Use a separate GPS, not the one on your phone!! After 13 visits, no, there's no cell reception, so your phone won't work. Using a separate GPS, punch in coordinates North 40.777475, West 123.332234. This will take you right to Redwoods & Rivers' front door. Yes, they are next to "Del Loma RV Park". What you'll need Everything is provided, except for water shoes. If you surf, booties are great, as the river water is cold. You'll also need sunblock, sunglasses (but you may lose these in the river, so nothing expensive), water bottle (stay hydrated), and camera (again, nothing expensive) Also, chill out if your cell doesn't work. Use it as a great excuse to get away from your city life and hectic pace. Rafting The rafting is great! Go for the full day trip, and lunch is provided. The best time to go is during late March, early April, as the snow pack is melting.

We took a group that ranged in age from 10 - 64 and we all had a really great time. tip: Ask for Chris, drink plenty of water, take Advil ahead of time, and listen when they say to wedge your foot into the raft... That tip alone will keep you in the raft! This was a first class experience and it was worth every penny.

We had such a great time riding the rapids with a great guide-Hannah. Our family had a rough start as we hit the driveway with a little too much speed, and ended up stuck in the ditch. Not a problem for the owner of the company, Michael. He was so calm, and pleasant, and helped us out along with another of the guides. We were completely versed on safety, and felt very confident with our children, 12, 14, and 15 year olds. My son fell out of the boat on one rapid, but knew exactly what to do, as Hannah gave us a thorough lesson prior to setting out. The trip was highlighted in photos taken on the ride by a very good photographer. I can't wait to get my pictures! I highly recommend this company for an excellent adventure!
