This museum is rather small, in fact we had a little difficulty establishing the proper parking and main entry off the side street. It does not take long to view (aside from sitting on the benches to ponder) given the size. However, the quality of the work by California artists was fantastic and well worth the stop. Perhaps the first time we have enjoyed an art museum alone. Very intimate and peacefully inspiring. Staff was very kind and helpful.

The museum is quite small. Discounted admission for students and seniors, but NOT free for under 18. We visited on a Wednesday morning, few other museums in the area were not open on Wednesdays so not much choice. There are two big antique stores across the street and nice creek side walking path with a park and a playground. There was plenty of free parking. The sculpture garden has a separate entrance and seems to have free entry. As far as the museum exhibits go, like I said, there is not a lot. But what they have was very nice modern art. We loved it, even my teenager had good time. We spent about an hour there. Not much of a gift shop, no café.

We went to The Bakersfield Museum Of Art and spent about an hour looking at the paintings and sculptures on display. They had a couple of special exhibits and some permanent ones as well. It only cost $5.00 for seniors and it was worthwhile.

. The Art Association has done so much to enhance our community with their wonderful gallery shows. They introduce new artists and feature long timers as well. They do all they can to keep art in Bakersfield fresh and interesting.

Small museum - a few exhibitions. Art in 2 small hallways and 3 gallery rooms. 2 of the 3 rooms are small. At time of our visit, main exhibit was a puppet collection. Neat and clean with pleasant staff. May be wise to check website for main exhibit prior to attending. If I wanted to look at puppets, I could've saved gas and just turned on MSNBC. On the other hand, the puppets at the BMOA were silent which is an improvement over MSNBC. Overall, a nice place

The classes that are offered for the kids are great and they always learn so much. The dinosaur exhibit is awesome and my grandson loves the Indian Village and always sees something new each time we go.

Great place to kill an hour or two, especially when it is hot out. Very quiet and peaceful, located right beside a park. Be sure to check the website ahead of time to see what exhibits are currently being shown.

Although this museum is very small, the quality of art that is displayed there is exceptional. I'll never forget when they brought the Harlem Renaissance collection. I love to see diversity and different points of view.

Cute entrance with ducks in front, nice design of the museum with a great variety of art in a compact space. Friendly staff.
