Cherai beach, located in god's own country,is one of the best beaches I've ever visited. Attention,nature photographers,this might make you reach your cloud nine upon looking at the horizon,whether sunny,cloudy,rainy or stormy. I've visited this place since 2013 and there's not a single time I've not gotten lost at its sightings. I last visited cherai on April 23,2022. Unfortunately,we had not checked the weather report for the day. On our way reaching,the more we neared our destination,the closer the rain clouds lingered to us. By the time we reached the place,it was already drizzling.Oh how we wished it was a heavy rain so that the lasting span of the rain was less;but alas!that wasn't the case. It kept drizzling, drizzling and drizzling.The drive was worth it ,cuz when we bestowed upon the shore,it seemed like the extreme dark clouds seemed to meet the reflecting ocean. I was at first, frightened but soon got over it.the sand was soft like in dreams, but the clouds were as black as charcoal. Whoa!!what a contrast! Unfortunately,I hadn't captured that moment on my cam. My aunt and cousin, along with my family had gone for this drive. If you have fish craze,then if you are headed to this place,sure, you MUST buy their fishes.cheap,pure and yet so delightful. I'm not going to take any more of your time. My only concern in visiting this place is taking weather precautions and an extra pair of clothes and an umbrella would make it all up.

One of the most neat and clean beach in outskirts of cochin. The sea was not so rough always . watching sunset is a marvelous view

Very neat and clean beach with lot of shacks to chill and eat sea food and relax .massage ayurveda also available for relaxing but centres are not clean , dirty smell

Visited nearly all beaches but I like this one as this is tourist place .
What I don't like is garbage here and there you can take local massages there

Gone there for ayurveda treatment but didn't find some good stuff there and booked some property on kuri kuri beach

The beach is good. It's nightmare for old aged to reach the waters. There are no steps or ramp for differently abled. They have to pass through the uneven rocks.
Usually Kerala used to shows the path for others but Tamilnadu have shown the way this time in Marina beach. It's high time that not only Kerala every government to have ramp for differently abled or old aged to access the sea water.

Just love this place and there is no other home stay I would recommend than Lakefront Beach Homes Koothappilly house Cherai beach Pincode 683514 Ernakulam District. Please contact Mrs Shari Sarath for your bookings at +91 82810 10588 ayurveda at Prakriti Centre they arrange for their guests. Its an humble but magical place. We are here for now 2mons and just loving it.

Another victim of natural calamites spoiled most of the beauty. Lovely beach with breeze, sand,rock,waves and backwaters along with coconut trees and paddy fields depicting village environment were ideal for swimming.More security measures were required in the area as the roads were narrow with less light. . Eatery and shops were nearby.

Is there any public toilet facility in Cherai beach? so that after bath in sea we can change our cloths for both men and women. We will be staying in Fort Kochi not Cherai.

You can change in any of the cafés/coffee shops. We were also staying in Fort Kochi, it was easy to get there

We will have 3 days to recover from a long flight from west coast of US, and wonder if this is the place. We fly into Kochi, and after our 3 days, we'll be in Ayurvedic hospital for month.

I too was worried before visiting the beach but trust me, this beach is so clean, secluded and almost crowd-free which is not the case with most of the Indian beaches. The sunset from the beach is just amazing!
There aren't any hawker to buy food on the beach itself but the restaurants are located alongside which is just 5 minutes walk. Sadly, we could find only 01 restaurant with a bar which too was not a very pleasant experience.
I want to know how to get to Cherai beach from kochi airport.

is there any backwater fisjhing facility at cherai. i have heard that one hotael provide this facility and lunch by charging a sum per person.
