This beach is one of the most beautiful sandy beaches in the Middle East . Located in the south of Lebanon, Tyre is a great touristic destination for its renowned beach, diversity of national and international restaurants, and historical places in the city that is named as one of the UNESCO heritage site.

If you are visiting Tyre during the summer months, a trip to the public beach is a must. It is one of the cleanest in Lebanon. Unlike the beaches in Lebanon's north, Tyre's beach is made of a fine sand, which coupled with the crystal clear water, makes for a perfect day on the coast.

We went to the beach in late afternoon and it was incredible experience. Place is not overcrowded and there are mainly locals. Sand and water are very clean.

On the small promontory next to the Al Fanar Restaurant & The lighthouse still stands a cosy beaut lighthouse, named Al-Fanar , for me the symbol of Tyre, not the hippodrome nor the columns stretching out into the sea at Al Mina.
It was built around 1912, perhaps on top of an existing building dating from 1860,
It is as white as milk and overlooks a the sea that is often rough, almost as if it were challenging the waves.
Opposite, there is a small restaurant where you can have a healthy fattouche and a beer in the shade of the lighthouse.

This beach is deserted and difficult to find access. It has a great view of the town but it's not a place you'd want to go swimming. There are no facilities and it's not all that clean.

If you are in Lebanon, you have to visit one of Tyre beaches. The good thing about Tyre is that all beaches are free which is A rarity in Lebanon. Beaches are clean. The northern part is sandy with miles of beach and local kiosks. The southern part is rocky but very accessible. You can rent umbrellas and lounge chairs for a reasonable price (14$ for an umbrella and 4 chairs). Practically all kiosks serve fish and seafood at reasonable prices (30% cheaper than Beirut).

The beach was a couple of minutes walk from our hotel. It was ideal cause you can hire sun beds for the duration of your stay at a low cost which was our preference to just placing our towels on the stand.
There is various huts on the beach which provide this service as well as food and refreshments of a good standard and value. It is ideal outing especially if on a budget or have kids to entertain.
It’s also very safe and family friendly.
