The location is amazing, beach is amazing, campsite very average. There are no rules applied (enforced) for respect to noise at night. The toilet block has a door that slams everytime anyone goes in or out, keeps you awake all night. No soap in the toilets and the covid sanitiser pods were empty for the duration we stayed. People washing dishes after midnight and openly laughing and chatting while doing so. Having left a campsite previous to staying here which had a 10pm curfew for noise, masks mandatory for the toilets and plenty soap/ sanitiser at all times, it was a shock to not find any of this at Achmelvich.
We did enjoy the stay apart from the above but bear this in mind if visiting.
Ps drive very slow when approaching the campsite on the road from lochinver as it is very dangerous and tight, lots of passing places but some people drive normal like it's an open road and we saw several near misses and one bump with a car and campervan.

You must come here. The rockpooling is good because we caught rock gobies, butterfish, common blenny and a shore crab. Lovely views and very clean.

Trip Advisor, please merge the two, there is only one ACHMELVICH BEACH, and people shouldn't be allowed to just rename things this way!

Yes this is a duplicate but please don’t review this one star because of that. The views are great and the sand is so gold and clean.

Loved this little cove with a nice sandy beach ideal for kayaking surfing and just swimming.
Bit a a walk from the car park to the beach but well worth it when you arrive. ( unless there is a shorter way I didn't find)
Truly a wonderful place.

There is a small public car park here and a toilet nearby. The ranger's hut is very informative and great for kids. They can borrow the dipping nets to go rockpooling and learn all about the local ecology through the displays. The beach features sugar soft sand and has the best sunsets around.

Excellent beach for playing in the white sand, building sand castles and playing in the water if not too cold. Car park is a short distance away over the dunes which can get busy. At one end of the beach there is a wee beach shop which was basic but still facilitated a reasonable lunch. Well worth a visit :-) There is a beach a little way round a corner though this requires a walk to get to...
