Great view over Baiona

You can reach the place by car but you won't regret your decision if you walk to the top. The monument is unique and the view over Baiona is stunning.

Beautiful monument, lovely walks, incredible views. But not only this you can also go inside the Virgen de la Roca and take in the surroundings from her point of view from a small boat which she holds in her right hand. The surrounding area is also a great place for picnics, dog walking etc. A place worth the trip if... More

This monument overlooks the bay of Baiona & the Atlantic ocean coast road. You can pay 1.5 euros to climb the narrow steps to the top(not recommended if you are claustrophobic!) for even greater views. There is a nice little bar at the side of the monument with lovely views through the pine trees. A nice way to spend a... More

Easy to find while wandering Baiona. It is interesting because it is built of marble and granite- granite body and marble face and hands..

Lovely place to watch the sunset over the Isles Cies in the breeze under the pine trees at the end of a hot day. Plenty of picnic benches - a fairly priced cafe. Toilets were clean and serviced with soap etc. (if a little whiffy in the heat). Parking by the roadside. It will cost you 1euro 50 per person... More

I walked from the Old Town and loved my time strolling around the monument. The highlight is climbing the stairs into the arm of the Virgin Mary and being rewarded with incredible views of the Bay of Baiona etc. The grounds are also worth exploring and if the cafe is open you can enjoy a drink in amazing surroundings. A... More

The virgen de LA Roca offers an excellent view and relax time for the entire family. However I recommend to improve the quality of the stairs

A magnificent view as almost everyone has pointed out but the "statue" itself is only impressive because of its size. Not great really. Incidentally, there is a small road over the top of the mountains between Oia and Baiona from which one has better views.

Easy walk! Easy parking! Small shop was open for snacks etc. Lots of benches and tables for picnics. Entry fee charged for the extra view from the ship held by the statue.

A complete picnic area amongst the pine trees at the base of the statue. For those with a head for heights it is possible to climb to the top of the statue.
