Nice beach but taxi to beach total rip off quoted 10 euro but they forget to say 20 euro back. Get a bus for a couple of euro to Tolo so much more value and great scenery

I loved this beach because it was very calm beautiful water along rocky shoreline with many points to access the water. Not too many people. Sure, no sand. Great views. Walk from Nafplio.

Beautiful beach with clear water and a lovely view. There is no sand, only small stones, and no place to lie in the shade. The nearby bar has both sunbeds and umbrellas, and you can use them for free if you buy a drink. There are also dressing rooms where you can change your clothes! Toilets are also kept clean.

I live in Nafplio year round, and so I hope to provide a well-rounded review of the beach and of the surrounding areas.

I'll begin with the negative and end with the positive:

During the tourst season, I can't stand the beach. It's crowded and the music from the beach bar is annoying and inconsistent. During the day there is a music program (call it a virtual dj) that plays, but doesn't mix songs, so during transitions between dance songs it sounds like two shoes in a dryer. One song will be deep house, the other will be progressive house, the other will be pop, and the one after will be dark progressive.

The beach is combination of some sand but mostly stones. The area below the beach bar is concrete which is very old, and very rough. It's in dire need of a makeover. I don' know if this is the fault/responsibility of the government or of the people who rent the space out for use in the summer while the bar is in operation.

The wind tends to pick up in the afternoon, and by noon the beach does become wavy.

ON TO THE POSITIVE: the surrounding topography is remarkable. Mountains across the Argolic Gulf, the palamidi castle above and behind you as you face the water, and to the right is the castle of Acronafplia. In the early morning, the clarity of the water is amazing, with colors of blue, green, and aquamarine.

I think the best months for that beach are mid-september when the beach bar closes all the way through late May.

Arvanitia is Nafplio’s city beach, rather small, rather pebbled, with wonderful views and clean, clear water.

The beach is dominated by the BluBlanc that runs the restaurant, sun chairs and other services. Constant music from BluBlanc can be heard all over the tiny little piece of ‘free’ beach.

If you prefer a more sandy beach, you can walk or drive to Karathona some 3 km further away from Nafplio. The walk is amazing!

Awful beach. After reading some of these reviews I thought it must be a different beach but it's not. Dont get me wrong the views are amazing. If you can look past the graffiti
That's where it ends
There are cubicles to change in
there are what might have been bars and what looks like an empty hotel. Theres a toilet which looks like it's never been cleaned.
I suggest if you want a good beach there are hundreds more all over Greece

My friend advised me to go to that area which I didnt know that was existed. After crossing the port and after the lighthouse. This area is blocked and restricted due to the large hanging rocks. Many people were passing there. The path and the views are stunning. It worth the risk to take photos there.
This area must be maintained to avoid fatal incidents.
The beach itself was not something to mention about. Most probably because its winter and everything is closed but this is just an excuse to leave such a place at its own faith

Arvanitia beach is a small pebble beach around the town of Nafplio - on the opposite side of the promenade and town center.
You can walk to it from downtown or drive and park at limited spaces parking lot.
The beach is picturesque as it's beneath the imposing Palamidi hill and fortress, but we had only one swim here after exploring the fortress. Imo, it's not a beach for longer stays.

We spent some time here during our visit to Nafplio. It was walking distance to our hotel and very nice. You can get a chair if you buy some drinks. The beach is rocky and the swimming is pleasant. Wait staff at BluBlanc is friendly.
