Pushkar Cooking Art & Home Stay was established by Ashok and Shivani Tak around two decades ago in the scenic town of Pushkar (Rajasthan). Shivani is an authentic North Indian Cooking instructor and has been giving hands on cooking experience for last two decades. Ashok (popular as Camel Man) is an internationally acclaimed Camel Decoration artist, rare embroidery and textile collector and exhibitor. He also owns a small museum exhibiting his collection at the same premises. In October 2016, we have started a small home stay with a self cooking kitchen for our guests.

I had the pleasure of attending one of Shivani's classes, and it was one of the highlights of my trip! Shivani and Ashok welcome you into their home with flower garlands and rose petals! I had such an amazing time learning how to cook all the recipes, and they tasted absolutely incredible! Even using plates made of dried leaves so... More

Thoroughly enjoyed the cooking lesson with Shivani. She is very organised, patient and instructions are clear. We discovered an array of spices and produced a range of vegetarian dishes, which we got to eat at the end of the class. I came away with a desire to experiment with these new techniques along with the recipe handout. Shivani and her husband... More

Shivani and her husband Ashok are the most welcoming pair ever. I had so much fun learning to cook with Shivani. She is very prepared and has all the recipes and food ready to answer or go at the pace you need. After cooking, I sat down for a nice dinner with them and their houseguests. Next time I'm in... I spent yet another lovely half day with the beautiful and patient Shivani with my group, learning how to cook some delicious Indian dishes. We came away with some spice, print outs of the recipes (to try back home) and very full tummies! We tasted each dish as we went along and then sat down to a banquet of what... More

You know when you meet someone who reminds you how amazing this world is? That is how I feel about Ashok and Shivani. Meeting these two has been absolutely the highlight of my time in Pushkar. They are the most kind, caring, driven, interesting and compassionate pair with big hearts and open arms. I took Shivani's cooking class in their... More

Spent an evening with Shivani and her husband Ashok. We'd been wanting to do a cooking class for ages and this was the perfect introduction to Indian cooking, covering a range of popular Indian dishes - all tasted amazing. The whole evening was great, and we all felt extremely welcome. Great atmosphere and we loved sitting round with everyone at... More

We love Indian food and also had some experience preparing a few dishes at home. Still we wanted to learn more from a local expert - and this is what we found here!! In advance to the cooking class you will plan what you would like to learn to cook (and like to eat -- all vegetarian). So every class... More

After 4 weeks in India with so much that we saw and happened, the Pushkar Cooking Art visit is still one of the most outstanding experiences. Shivani and her charming husband welcomed our group with a shower of rose petals and from then on we were enchanted - by the extremely well organised way in which every dish was made... More
