We visited here with private car(3000Rs, included Bhimbetka Rock Shelters) arranged by our Hotel Grand Ashirwad. At 11AM, we drove 90km, returning to Bhopal's bypass at Bhairopur, first north then east to Sanchi Hill. At 1PM, after paying 1010Rs(2 persons + car), we drove 2km uphill to the parking lot. Sanchi which is around 50 kms outside of Bhopal is a must visit for those interested in History. Built by Emperor Asoka in the 3rd Century BC the Sanchi monuments are well preserved and set in a very peaceful environment.

This is a fascinating place, it's worth trying to find a guide to explain it, otherwise just enjoy the atmosphere.

One shouldn't expect much of an adventure coming to this place. This place has its own and unique importance being constructed in the times of Ashoka. Rest there is a museum nearby. one can visit those.
