Believe it or not, the place is much more beautiful and serene than in the pictures. Sanchi has such beautiful sculptures on the Toranas, each telling stories of Gautam Buddha's Life. Must See !!

Three large stupas with carving on one dating back to 200BC. A very well maintained site with good information boards. The walk down to Stupa 2 is quite steep.
