About
Hampi is one of the most beautiful and evocative of all historical sites in south India. It was established as the seat of the Vijayanagara Empire in the mid 14th century, a time when art and architecture flourished. The city was conquered by Sultanate troops in CE 1565, pillaged for six months, and abandoned. People however continued to live in the region and worship continued in few temples. The sprawling heritage site encompasses several village settlements; the presence of these human settlements makes Hampi a living heritage site. We believe that people living in these settlements are an essential part of the site and therefore anything and everything rooted by local communities add to the cultural significance of the place. Explore Hampi is an attempt at building a tourism venture that makes locals stakeholders in its responsible development. We want to promote Hampi as a living heritage site; showcase the unique culture and beauty of the region along with the ruins of Hampi.

We joined a private 2-day tour with our guide Pampa. He was incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and professional. You can easily tell that he is passionate about the history and culture of Hampi. We have spent over 2 months in India and joined many tours—no tour has yet surpassed this one! I would not hesitate to book a tour with this company (hopefully with Pampa!).

Vinny is a pirate. I booked a two-days tour around Hampi. He sent a friend who didn't know about guiding (no history, no art, no infirmation at all). He charged me 3000 rs per day. Obviously after his first day he was fired. I regret to have paid him for "his services". My driver did it best.

we explore every place. Our guide, a rikshaw man called Jeelan, explained us everything in detail before we reached each site.
It was a very good experience. He also took us to other sites outside of Hampi and also made us discover superb panoramas! His prices are very democratic, he is really friendly, very conscientious and he really knows Hampi. I really recommend him!

We spent three days in the Hampi area went on three different tours. Day 1 was when we visited Hampi, the seat of the Vijayanagar empire -- starting from the Vittal Temple, a walk along the Tungabhadra River that ended at the Virupaksha temple. Day 2 was spent in Aihole, Pattadakal and Badami and Day 3 was in Hampi but across the river in Kishkinda region that is alive with mythology of the Ramayana -- Bali, Sugriv and of course Hanuman-ji. But the best part was the truly pre-historic cave paintings dating back many thousands of years ...

Really loved the tours that were very well organised by and executed. No complaints.

Initially only booked 1 day heritage tour to visit temples and main sites in Hampi, but then our guide Basava was soooooo good that we spontaneously also booked day 2, which was a half day tour on 2W to see spectacular things of Hampi that we could have never discovered on our own. We, that's 5 friends, I have personally been to Hampi before as I just love this place, but this time's experience topped it absolutely.

Heard about Arjun who has found Travspire (www.travspire.com) and together with his counterpart and partner Basava in Hampi, they offer the best tour available in Hampi. Very good English, extremely sensible and sensitive to your own needs, punctual and just overall very very good. Highly recommended. He will show you places in Hampi, that will create memories and experiences rather than just a heritage tour. Day 1 was the typical temple packed visit day, but with highlights like the lovely prepared lunch between rocks, cooked by villagers, who came to present the vegetarian thalis to us. Very yummy and a highlight by itself. Before and after was packed with 8 h full of information and facts about Hampi. He picked us up at our hostel and dropped us there and we were exhausted but happy.
As day 1 was so good, we decided to go for another 1/2 day on day 2, on 2-wheelers, exploring the village side (not the temple side of Hampi) with a long ride through rice paddies, trying pan and another fantastic lunch, this time in between the sincerity of hundred of years old stones (which you can find a lot). whenever you felt, you could have a tender coconut, a man would suddenly appear and you could refresh yourself.

Thank you Basava (and Arjun) of making this trip unique and so memorable.
Will not forget and return soon

We met three guides in three cities from Explore Hampi. We took the Hampi, Badami, Aihole & Pattadakal 3 days 2 night package on the 6th to 8th Dec 2017. Explore Hampi arranged a driver whom drove us from our Hyatt Hotel in Bengaluru. It took around 6-7hours ride. We reached around 9.30am at the heritage hotel in Hampi. The package which include a 2 night stay in Hampi and Badami. The guides were excellent especially Viru whom brought us to the corale ride. The magnificent architecture were impressive. Will definitely introduce to our friends and family.

3 years ago when I wanted to visit Hampi, my Co-sister suggested the name of the guide who was none other than Basava( ph no. 0944973708). I could contact him by phone and fixed dates for our trip(we stayed for 6 days).
He is an excellent guide. Stayed from morning till night with our group and very flexible in itinerary.
Hampi is wonderful place. It is a open museum. He took us to all important temples. Historic sites and even prehistoric(Mythological)( pre mythological) sites in Anegundi. He was friendly though out and kids became friends with him. Trekking to Mantanga parvata was beautiful and memorable.

He took us to rock climbing also.Virupaksha,Chandrashekara, Manjunatha and Shridhar(Ph. no.09449284496, viru.ang@gmail.com) these four helped us for rock climbing. we were ladies and kids. we enjoyed rock climbing in Anegundi.
Basava became our good friend. still in contact. I feel its very informative and safe to select Basava as your Guide. He is very much professional in his work with high knowledge in every nick and corner of Hampi. As though you feel hampi flows in his blood.
He is available in facebook at 'Explore Hampi' or Hampi Basava.

We just git back from ur 3 day tour with Explore Hampi and I highly recommend these guys if you plan a trip to Hampi. Lidin and Basava made our trip an amazing experience and everything was more than well organized. They arranged a pick up in Goa and drove us safely to Hampi and a airport drop to Hubli. The tours itself we booked in Hampi where breathtaking. As a local guide from Hampi Basava has an amazing knowledge over this place and made these days in Hampi to stay forever in our memories. Timing, flexibility for spontaneous changes of the program, the tour itself - all was fantastic! Go for it and book your trip with Explore Hampi if you plan to go there. Thanks a lot for this trip!
