WOW! Really Nice Hotel and in a great location, We Stayed 3 to 4 days with friends at Hotel Asian International is the best hotel in Bhagsunag Macleodganj near Dharamshala Cricket Stadium. Serene, spacious, clean rooms with a lovely balcony. Ideal for nature and Tibetan culture enthusiasts. Highly recommended!

An excellent place to visit the colourful and expansive stadium which hosts many cricket matches. There is a ticket of Rs 30 per entry and there are some lunch hours when tickets will not be available. Typical visit time will be 30 minutes. The highlight is the vibrant play of colours and the excellent location showing views of mountains all around. A very tight crowded same entry and exit for the large number of people entering the stadium. Wish they could make a more organised entry and exit system inside the stadium. As you walk along some chair rows beware of large raised bumps invisible as painted in same colour and lot of people were falling by accident.

Waste of time. The ground was dug and although it was a place of scenic beauty, we could not see the beauty of the stadium

With a capacity of 23,000, Dharamshala cricket stadium is considered one of the most beautiful stadiums in the world.
The picturesque venue is unique in India as it is situated at an altitude of 1,457 m above the sea level and has the snow-capped Himalayan mountains in the background.

Good to see stadium but frankly speaking empty stadium is like empty theater. There is no point to visit a stadium until there is a match.

Tastefully constructed and colourful. HPCA and tourism department can do a bit more in terms of promoting activities within for tourists and make the trip eventful.

The backdrop of the stadium is something which you will carry forever. The amazing experience of watching nature and cricket at the same time will be enchanting for most Indians. This can be a great mood enhancer for someone who wants to feel better.

The best way to reach is to land at Dharamshala, However the flights are via Delhi and the ticket from delhi to dharamshala is really very expensive. Alternatively you can land at Delhi and take a Night service Volvo bus from delhi to Dharamshala.

I stayed at Mcleodganj and covered these places in one day (although I spent another day at Naddi and Stadium ):
1. Naddy view point
2. St Jhon in Wilderness Church
3. HPCA Stadium
4. Gopalpur Zoo
5. Norbulingka Institute
6. Palampur
7. Saurav Vana Vihar
HPTDC Restaurant at Palampur is a nice one and you can have food there. On way we also visited Jai Matadi Temple.
Yes , stadium is open to all except during big matches like test, IPL etc and you have to walk about 500 meters from the parking place.

All stands I believe offer stunning view of the snow clad Himalayas but as a match spectator only you may have access to all. For the tourist, only one stand is open but it too offers fascinating views.
Is it open for tourist all time and if yes, what are the charges?

Should there be no match, Gate 2 is open for tourist all the time. No entry fee
